Minari deserves to win the Best Picture Oscar
I'm Asian but not being biased. It deserves to win. Period. Any questions?

shareYuh-Jung Youn, who played Grandma, is the favorite to win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. But that's probably the only thing Minari will win.
It is a good film, about a South Korean family who moves from California to the rural south, trying to succeed at farming South Korean foods. They run into all sorts of obstacles. It's mostly in Korean, but some characters speak English, including a quirky older American. I think it's set in the 1980s.
If Steven Yeun's character's life had been saved by hiding under a dumpster, the audience would have been cheering. The word-of-mouth on the film would have been tremendous, and it might have been a box office hit.
A good film but nope. Nomadland will win.
