Vaccine Passports

How do we feel about them???

Should we be required to show them prior to entering a business like a grocery store, bar, or a restaurant???

reply

I've already faked mine.

I already have a vaccine card that has my entire vaccine history on it. Useful for checking when boosters are due and getting recommended vaccines for tropical places. My kids use their vaccine cards a lot for school/camp/travel proof of vaccine (MMR, polio, etc).

I’d prefer to use business, especially gyms, dentists, hair salons, that require vaccines. Grocery store and restaurants might be too much, but ok if just for employees. Definitely prefer food servers who are vaxxed.

Yes that's what makes the claim that BIG BROTHER is taking over our lives so ABSURD, is how many people like yourself who travel to other places around the GLOBE already have VACCINE PASSPORTS that they need to use before they can enter other countries (where they also need to be VACCINATED against catching other diseases like YELLOW FEVER).

Since people also have the option to ORDER GROCERIES and have them sent to their OWN HOME (or they can also ORDER them brought out to them in a DRIVE UP CURB SIDE order process), I feel it's not too much to ask that other CUSTOMERS can shop for their FOOD knowing that others who shop INSIDE the GROCERY STORE have also been VACCINATED.

Because the BODIES of others who have NOT been VACCINATED are also HAVENS where the VIRUS creates the even MORE CONTAGIOUS and DEADLY forms of the VIRUS.

So, imo, it's also not too much to ask that anyone who HARBORS and CARRIES these NEW STRAINS (that the VACCINES probably also won't protect you from) be required to SHOP CURB SIDE or from their OWN HOMES.

reply

Too much of a hassle for the businesses to have somebody standing at the door checking everybody.

reply

Since it would involve having an AP on your smart phone, or having a bar code printed out on a vaccine card of some kind, you'd most likely simply SCAM that CODE into a machine as you entered the store (the same way as you can do at certain airports now to show that you're who you're ID says you are without needing to actually SHOW IT to someone else who needs to check it out).

reply

If they can make chipped credit cards, I should think they could create something for vaccination status.

It amazes me that some folks are ranting about overreach or big brother or whatever. But if you travel internationally, you have to prove that you've had the proper vaccinations. How is this different other than geography??

reply

Maybe it depends on what country you're visiting (or what country you are traveling from), but I've travelled internationally a number of times between industrialized/modernized/whatever countries, and never had to submit any proof of vaccinations (I don't even have all the records for the many vaccinations I've gotten in my lifetime). So, if proof of COVID-19 vaccination came to be universally required for all international travel, that would be something new. I wouldn't mind, though.

reply

Most businesses have door staff in place: gyms, salons, dentists. Bars and restaurants have bouncers and hostesses.

Aren't you the guy who called for concentration camps for those without the vaccine?

Vax passports only sound reasonable for travel outside one's country. All else tiptoes around violation of human rights.

reply

Op is just a troll who replies with links barely relating to your retort. He is just looking for a rise out of people who don't blindly want to listen to the "government".

reply

OP's topic post didn't have the usual seeding of capitalization so I didn't remember it was him at first. More of the same "AUTHORITARIANISM now! Because we care."

reply

NO I am NOT the GUY who called for CONCENTRATION CAMPS which are places where people were SENT TO DIE.

On the other hand, you'd be the GUY who likes to place WORDS into the MOUTHS of people who NEVER SAID THEM.

And people who REFUSE to WEAR MASKS or follow other RULES for dealing with the VIRUS are also those who VIOLATE the HUMAN RIGHTS of others who they INFECT with the VIRUS.

reply

Sure you were. Here is your level headed, reasonable, screed:

As I said, "self deputized safety totalitarians." Your kind are scary. Look at how you post even. Capitalizing words at random like a madman.

I'm sure that executions would end up being what's best for humanity eventually, right?

reply

We were discussing CAMPS like SUMMER CAMPS where one sends CHILDREN to have a GOOD TIME in the SUMMER TIME (NOT DEATH CAMPS where people go to DIE).

In CHINA they also sent COVID PATIENTS to CAMPS where they had them DANCING as a way to CLEAR the virus from their LUNGS.

So it's more of a GET WELL CAMP than a DEATH CAMP we discussed.

But TOTALITARIANS also like to TWIST what someone said and place WORDS into the MOUTHS of people that THEY NEVER SAID.

reply

Sure. It's all there (even the parts you edited) for one to see. No need for any twisting.

reply

The FALSE CLAIM that one has suggested people be placed into "DEATH CAMPS" when one has not, or that one had EDITED anything (apparently as a way to prove what you say is wrong) reveals an IRRATIONAL PARANOIA on your part that isn't even worth addressing any further.

they are an inevitable social passport out of the pandemic

a phone scan at point of entry/order/sale

I'm happy to get the jabs (had the first one already), but not happy to show proof/passport etc when shopping. I feel that is discriminatory, and unfair as shopping/food is a basic necessity.

And before anyone says you can order food online, I live alone and work full time with varying shifts, and may not be there to accept the order when its delivered. And I am not happy that delivery drivers may just leave the food outside my door. For two reasons...

First, I could come home after a shift and find the delivery has been stolen, or the delivery may be incomplete or wrong as is common here in the UK.

reply

Here in the US we also have the other OPTION to DRIVE UP to the CURB of the store and PICK UP the GROCERIES that way (it's called CURB SIDE PICKUP and they also reserve areas at the front of the store's parking lot for it) .

So IF the ORDER is INCOMPLETE or WRONG, then all you'd need to do is CALL the STORE, and then have someone bring out whatever is missing and/or replace whatever is wrong.

And that way you also don't need to worry about anything being STOLEN from you.
