She's a legend, her voice was sexy yet sort of sad...great pick

And not that it has anything at all to do with the thread but damn, what a beauty

I have reported and cancelled The Rotters but Stevie Nicks sitting on my face is an interesting state of affairs to be honest😬

reply

i'd listen to Dolly Parton and Donna Summer sing anything, anytime, anywhere.

reply

Karen Carpenter sounded like an angel, a perfect voice

I would add Patsy Cline, her voice was hardly matched by anyone

reply

Karen's voice is so soothing.. I recommend listening to her if you're ever overwhelmed by LSD

reply

At the minute...

Roisin Murphy
Amanda Shires
Joanna and Klara Soderberg (First Aid Kit)
Lisa Hannigan
80s Madonna
Jess Glynne
Brittany Howard

reply

I'll go with 80s Madonna. I love her first two albums.

Karen Carpenter, though I am not a fan of most of her music, her voice was incredible
Ann Wilson, for me the best female rock singer
Adele, for a brief period she was my favorite singer
Lady Gaga, again not a fan of her music but her vocal skills are undeniable
Donna Summer
Kelly Clarkson, I cannot think of a single song of hers I like but love her voice
Carly Simon
Pat Benatar
Laura Branigan
Eva Cassidy

That Kelly Clarkson thing doesn’t make sense.

Carole King, Carly Simon

I like her, too. Her first four or five albums are pretty good. Sometimes it/she is annoying, but she's original and cute.

The One and Only: JUDY GARLAND 💥

reply

Have you heard the song she sings where she's crying? It's great but it's also so heartbreaking.

Please tell me you saw "A Child Is Waiting"? It's not only one of my favorite movies, but that role was made for Judy. Her vulnerability makes me chill right now as I'm thinking about the movie.

reply

"A Child Is Waiting": Judy was a natural actress from her earliest days. Always genuine, always believable. Beside her exceptional voice, that's why she could always sell a song. Good singers have a quality of being able to convincingly "act" a song. Even toward the end, when her voice was ravaged, she could always sell a lyric with her emotion. 🌈 💓

I consider her in a class by herself. Utterly unique, smoky, soulful, beautiful, timeless.
