Unpopular opinion: I don't trust people who have to have a snack during a movie.
I feel that if you always need it, it's like you need something to do to keep you from getting bored.
shareI feel that if you always need it, it's like you need something to do to keep you from getting bored.
shareI agree, especially with the folks who bring in smelly hot meals, like nachos and chili hot dogs. I donβt want to smell all that and listen to all that noshing when I am trying to escape into a film. Eat before or after the movie.
shareI don't mind people occasionally eating something, but when you can't watch a movie without it, I question those people. Chili dogs are going way too far.
shareas long as they are quiet
shareSo you have a problem with popcorn and candy?
shareIf you can't watch a movie without it, then yes.
shareBut that's part of the whole going to a movie experience to me. I'm not sure what this has to do with trust?
shareI'm sure you are not alone in craving this experience, but some of us enjoy the essence of capturing the wonder of film w/o constantly feeding our maw. I like to find a quiet place in my mind, concentrate on the film and take time off from shoveling food into my face.
Sorry if it sounds snarky, but I'm disappointed when an inherently sedentary experience, while uplifting, is paired with an overwhelming urge to consume junk food.
What Snepts said.
shareThe next time I goto the theater I'm picking up an extra bag of Reese's Pieces.... just. for. you.
shareFirst of all, enjoy because that's delish. Second, I'm okay with people doing it every now and then but some people refuse to watch a movie unless they have a snack.
shareI generally do get something but it's normally gone by the time I get past the 45 minutes of trailers they have in every film.
shareI once heard that movie theater chains would put frames of food and drinks into the pictures as sort of a subliminal message to make you hungry. I don't know whether that's true or not.
shareProbably. They're sneaky bastards.
shareBack in the 70's a theater chain got called out because they were piping the popcorn smells into the theaters.
