๐Ÿ“ผ PHYSICAL MEDIA IS KING!๐Ÿ’ฟ

IT JUST IS.

reply

Agreed!

I had so many tapes and dvds but dhen I moved into my tiny flat there was just no room for them. I like streaming though as I've found so many series and films that I would never have seen otherwise.

reply

I love the streaming also, but I stream to find what movies I want to buy.

reply

I agree.

There have been movies that I've never seen on a streaming service (aside from iTunes to buy), and are really difficult to find on physical media, so I've had to buy them when I see them.

reply

I find DVD collectors do more searching than watching.

reply

I do that with streaming. I spend more time trying to find something than watching.

reply

you don't have to leave your couch

reply

THE SEARCH IS HALF THE FUN.๐Ÿ™‚

ALSO...I PICK UP MANY TITLES TO RESELL...HELPS PAY FOR THE COLLECTION.

reply

real estate is too expensive in this city to waste on dvds.

reply

REAL ESTATE EXISTS TO HOUSE DVDS....ITS IN THE BIBLE.๐Ÿ™‚

reply

hmm well we're trying to save the media.

You might like this..Its a great place. https://youtu.be/FXX9_51r_ho

reply

This might be Kowalskis wet dream.

reply

THAT LOOKS AWESOME...CAN I SLEEP ON YOUR COUCH WHILE ON MY BOOKMAN'S ARIZONA TRIP?๐Ÿ˜

reply

Its actually better than it looks....You would not be able to contain yourself.

reply

That looks like a great place.

reply

I'm a major proponent of physical media and proudly tout my Victorville Film Archives membership.

reply

Do they list the running times of movies?

reply

You betcha! It's the gold standard.

reply

WHAT DOES YOUR MEMBERSHIP ENTITLE YOU TO?

reply

Glad you asked. My tier of membership (Bilbo Tier) includes weekly recommendations and movie expertise, unlimited borrowing privileges, access to the VFA master database, a full year's supply of popcorn salt, and up to three personalized tours of the campus per year with up to three guests. It's definitely worth the money.

reply

YUP...THATS WELL WORTH THE CASH...VERY COOL.๐Ÿ‘

reply

So you are watching movies on a VCR?

reply

I have a setup that records it to a hard drive and plays the video from there. VCR technology is growing increasingly obsolete, but there are still a lot of treasures to be found only on the VHS format.

reply

So what are you buying from VFA?

reply

Access to the full movie library as well as weekly expert movie recommendations to name a couple membership perks.

reply

so you download the movies. you are not buying a physical copy.

reply

Paid Membership includes and encourages personal tape duping. I'm transferring the VHS tape to a high quality digital medium. I know it's a roundabout way of viewing VHS tapes, but I don't want to wear out my VCR. It's a shame these details weren't included in the documentary.

reply

So VFA doesn't sell any movies. It's just a recommendation site.

reply

I own a vhs of home alone and included the diet pepsi UH HUH commercial.

reply

Right on!

reply

I just learned that Greedo shoots first these days. Isnโ€™t that evidence enough that physical media is indeed king?

UNLESS THEY ARE YOUR SERVERS...THAT CONVENIENCE IS EXTREMELY CONDITIONAL.

I WOULD MISS THE ARTWORK AND HAND FEEL...BUT THAT WOULD BE VERY CONVENIENT.
