I have only seen what my brother showed me a year ago. Is it any different than youtube?

Also, is it true the company answers directly to the CCP?

I sometimes wonder if it's a huge joke put on us by the Chinese.....Like, tik tok your time is almost UP America?

And if what I read is true, do they actually censor and remove any videos mentioning the genocide of Uyghur people?

I worry that so many Americans use this without even thinking about it's origins.

Am I just too high and paranoid?

Well this has been verified. They do censor anything that reflects China in a negative light. But obviously you are just bored and have nothing to add.

I am realizing why I pretty much gave up on mc. Any actual conversations are quickly deluded by people that seem to have to chime in on every thread, regardless of if they have anything to add.

No. I used to join platforms to safety test them for my kids. Joined webkinz, facebook, twitter, instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat... My kids are older now, so they are on their own with Tik Tok and whatever comes next.

Sometimes but only on certain occasions. I'm not addicted to it.

I originally wasn't interested in the app....but then Covid lockdowns happened! Spending more time at home, you literally need to find anyway to entertain yourself so I decided, "why not"?

It's got a very weird vibe.....by using tik tok you allow the creators access to your

Microphone on many different devices
Camera on many different devices
Your internet history
Your contracts
Your gps history

It's basically a way to spy on you just like everything else we all consent to

My biggest concerns are that so many people willingly use an app that is a Chinese company, that answers to a regime actively committing genocide.

I thought this would open peoples eyes and make them not want to use it, but hey who gives a rats ass about genocide right?
