I have only seen what my brother showed me a year ago. Is it any different than youtube?

Also, is it true the company answers directly to the CCP?

I sometimes wonder if it's a huge joke put on us by the Chinese.....Like, tik tok your time is almost UP America?

And if what I read is true, do they actually censor and remove any videos mentioning the genocide of Uyghur people?

I worry that so many Americans use this without even thinking about it's origins.

Am I just too high and paranoid?

Hell no. I have no interest, and think it is dumb as it gets, but to each their own.

It does a great job playing into our society’s vanity, so I’ll give it credit for that much.

I've seen enough tiktok to know it's designed for retards with short attention spans. My wife loves it.

While I definitely don't disagree, I believe in freedom to watch whatever mindless drivel one wants to watch. I still say supporting a company backed by a communist party committing genocide, and censoring people who actually speak up against it, is what should be concerning.

But yeah, from the bits I have seen it's perfect for the short attention span types whose brains have rotted beyond repair.

I love tiktok! It's saving my mental health during lockdown. Whatever you like, there's content for it. From diy to silly dancing. From cats to indigenous people sharing their history.

It takes a bit of viewing for the algorithm to learn your preferences but it's just a good way to get out of your own head for a while.

Does it bother you at all knowing they censor videos of people mentioning the genocide happening in China?

They censor alot of things. I don't go there for political issues, I just need somewhere to escape to.
