Does Anyone Else Listen To Mostly Sad Music?

For me, it's either it's sad, somber, melancholic, in a minor chord.. I can't think of too many happy songs I have in over 5,000 mp3s.

Sometimes singles (Billy Joel's "Pressure" as an example) are released in a major key as opposed to the album version in a minor key.

I also like dark stuff, and not necessarily diminished chords. Those Sabbath riffs, again, usually reverting to a half-step instead of the whole-step, Middle-Eastern vibe, ala The Doors and Pink Floyd.

I know David Gilmour said it's very hard to write a happy song. I love his "sad" guitar solos.

Not very often. I like the upbeat stuff. Keeps me going and optimistic.

Any examples?

It's more about how the lively music keeps me going.

Hard to sit still when one listens to this song. 💃

I'm a fan of Straight No Chaser and their covers of songs. Great sound and it's all a cappella.

Even though they are catchy I suppose the Garth Brooks songs Friends in Low places and 2 Pina Colladas are sad. And another favorite sad song I like is American Pie by Don McClean.

I like "Starry Night" (Vincent)

NO WAY.

Even when I listen to classical I want it to rock.
