Exactly. I miss being 12 years old and in middle school. I miss everything from the music, to the shows, to the cartoons, to the gadgets, everything.

No, there were a few remarkable personal events that year but overall I'm good with not looking back

I miss going to the arcade and playing DDR, so yes.

reply

No, I prefer 2005 myself.

I miss 1984.

reply

The music and movies I miss from then too! 👍

I miss the movies and culture, but I had a lot of problems that year. I was 16 years old, my family had moved to Tennessee that summer, and dad was fired by the assholes at his company less than 6 months later, due to the fact that he wanted to spend time with his family, and they wanted him to be on the road 24/7, selling his soul to the power company he'd had the misfortune of working for. He was depressed and unemployed for over a year. Mom was also having issues with dad, was going through menopause, and pining for my half-brother's fucking kids down in Texas instead of focusing on her two troubled teens at home. I was having issues adjusting to the local Southern culture (and it really sucks for outsiders) as well as watching my family life get worse and worse.

So 2002, save for a few parts, [like great movies, better internet (we'd moved on to DSL from phone line internet), no social media making people stupid, making a few friends, and not having everyone at each other's throats over politics] really sucked for me. 2003 was even worse, but you didn't ask about that year, so I will not elaborate.

2002 was a great year for me - I got married, which was awesome!

I’m not one to miss the past, as I look forward to what the future holds.

Yeah. The only thing I don't miss from the early 2000s is the fashion. It was kind of boring for me. I prefer the early-mid 90s with the funky floral print dresses, rompers, overalls, plaid shirt and loose Non-skinny jeans worn with a belt.

At least the 2010s,like the 90s had interesting and fun bright outfits to show off.

reply

Well 2020 is just a terrible year.

I'd love to hop in my DeLorean and travel back to 2002.
