Most Consistent Director?

I was talking to my friend about who the most consistent director is. My pick is either Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, or Paul Thomas Anderson. Obviously these directors didn't make only masterpieces but they are all above average and I would recommend anyone to watch all of their films.

Some directors who I enjoy, such as Ridley Scott or Francis Ford Coppola, have made masterpieces but also really bad films.

What are your thoughts?

Uwe Boll, hands down.

Antony Hoffman...

I'd go with Sergio Leone or Stanley Kubrick.

Vittorio de sica ..... The master of masterpieces.

Michael Bay.

Michael Bay for me too. When you see a Michael Bay picture, you know exactly what you're getting and he always delivers. Pretty safe bet with the movies he produces too.

Director of the people.

That might be true if Pain & Gain (2013) didn't exist, which is one of the funniest black comedies I've ever seen, and nothing like what you'd expect from Michael Bay.

reply

PT Anderson for sure

Your picks haven't made nearly as many movies as Scott or Coppola. Consistency is far more difficult to maintain over the long haul.

Proofreading, much?

If the question boils down to what director hasn't made a movie I didn't like then I 2nd the vote for Sergio Leone. All the rest of my favorites have at least one bogey.
(Was going to add Terry Gilliam but The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is pretty bad)

I can't consider a director with less than 3 movies. Too easy.
