Do you like the idea of a dog in an office?

I heard that dogs decrease stress just having them there.

Personally, I don’t think it’s professional. I wouldn’t allow it at work.

EDIT: I just realised how devastating it would be when it dies. That would be very hard if people became genuinely attached.

No
A dog at the office could be messy, loud and distracting

reply

Agree, not a good idea.

reply

You'd need a lazy old dog.

reply

A big fish tank would be better.

reply

Like this guy--who appears a couple of time as an office--in this case factory--dog.

reply

Exactly. And it’s not very pleasant for the dog either.

reply

True

reply

No, my boss needs to work from home more often.

reply

I worked in a few that had bikes.

reply

Depends on the dog and the office. Especially if it's a seeing eye-dog, which is necessary to the worker. But I generally don't like it, since most people in the office would be distracted (whether nervous or interested in the dog) and the dog would likely be stuck in one spot all day.

reply

No. I'm not a pet person and don't want some animal spreading its filth around my work area.

I have a cat in my office.
He sometimes presses buttons on the keyboard

reply

I used to have a mouse near my computer.

I have mixed feelings. I love dogs, but maybe he/she would be a distraction. It totally depends on the office and the people.
