The wokeness of Hollywood was more and more obvious last years. But it was some kind of unwritten. Now it's official.
Good thing it's not a legit or important ceremony based on merit, otherwise, people might actually be insulted by this move.
shareI haven't watched the Oscar ceremony for several years, too bad because I really used to enjoy it, but I personally don't care to listen to three hours of politics.
I don't care what they do going forward.
I gave up after a couple , 30 years ago , because even without the politics i realised it was boring and pointless
shareBut at least it used to be a quality seal. They weren't the best movies around (too much business), but they used to be good.
Right now, it's starting to be the opposite. If a an American movie gets an Oscar, you better avoid it.
By the way, last best picture Oscar, Parasite, it had zero diversity. But I guess since it wasn't a white movie, then that's OK 😄

People need to speak up and stop being intimidated by the racist label. It is being throw around for just about anything and it's so ridiculous. We have reached a point where people are apologizing for everything because they don't want someone to say they're insensitive or racist.
shareYes "racism" has been weaponized and it has proved to be very effective. Many of the intellectuals know that it's bullshit but they are too chicken to come out and openly oppose it.
Yes and I blame people on both sides for not stepping up to the plate and calling it what it is. Some are - but many are not. This is a great county and I am proud of it.
