I find cats so much cuter than most dogs...

I love animals, but I usually find cats to be much cuter than dogs. What are your thoughts? I had dogs as pets since growing up as a kid and they were great pets. Then had my first cat years later. Eventually all I had were cats.

reply

I find (some) humans to be much cuter than either cats or dogs.

reply

I find snakes to be much cuter than most humans.

reply

Dogs are more cheerful that cats, but cats are better at snuggling and cuddling.

reply

Cats are cuter. Dogs are more fun.

reply

Dogs eat cat shit and then lick your face, debate concluded.

reply

Totally depends on the individual animal.

reply

Up to a point. A girlfriend of mine had one of those dog-like cats, but even that cat was unfriendly compared to any dog.

reply

I love both, but cats are easier to take care of - you can make sure your cat has food and water and leave home for even a few days and they will be fine. Can't do that with a dog.

reply

Nah, that is not quite true in my experience. It is like our cats have always wanted their humans to stay put at home, and so they will become anxious if they're left alone.

reply

Yeah, but you can travel with your dog! Your cat wants to stay home.

If you're ever going on a cross-country road trip, I can't recommend taking a good-natured dog along too highly. That way, there will be one being in the car whom everyone likes 100% of the time, who's always good-tempered and friendly, and who never argues about anything.

reply

That's what I most missed about not having a dog. You can take them with you! Outside, on hikes, in (some) stores, in (some) restaurants. So much fun being able to take your animal with you and know s/he will have a great time!

I took my dog on a road trip from CA to Asheville, NC. In fact she's the reason I drove instead of flying.

reply

I know, but cats will need less discipline and exercise from their owners. So that is a good thing to me. And while it is hard to keep cats calm during car rides, some of them will gladly follow you for a walk (but not with a leash).

reply

Since we've only had cats and no dogs in my family, I will be biased. But yes, cats rule!

reply

Dogs are a lot of work and though I want one for security I'm too busy now to deal with it all

My daughter is very allergic to cats and while I'd happily keep a few around the yard for pest control I cannot

I'd prefer a dog...maybe someday

Anyway, I have pet Rabbits and dogs and cats are hell on bunnies

reply

So I guess that the bunnies will have to do for you then. They need a lot of exercise though, don't they?

reply

They do need to move or they get plump and unhealthy

I built a roughly 22 X 6 foot Bunny run for them and a two level hutch with a shingled roof...I'm no master carpenter but it really came out nicely👍
