What famous people have you met?

I've met quite a few at celebrity events and such.
Just a few:
Martin Landau.---2015 in L.A. I had breakfast with him and he was yelling at the waiter: "No good, no good, this egg isn't hard enough, I need a HARD boiled egg. Now PLEASE!" So over the top, obviously still acting. He was funny. Later he went outside for a smoke. I guess when you're in your 80s you can do whatever you want. But had he quit he'd probably still be alive.
Barbara Eden- 2014--Chicago-- Just asked how her dog Djinn Djinn was and stuff.
Ed Asner-2017 Chicago.-- Met him while he was eating lunch: a tamale. He's funny too.
A few others:
Chuck Negron (of 3 Dog Night)
Kim Darby
Lesley Ann Warren
Robert Clary (Lebeau)
And 1994: Jay Leno interviewed me in the NYC subway for a segment for the Tonight Show that never aired. I don't really like him anyway (he's not as bad as Letterman though, but so far below Carson).
1994-- Sarah Silverman in NYC before she was famous handing out flyers for a comedy club. I said I wasn't interested. Then she started a kind of comedy bit at my expense (if you know her type of humor). I should have gone, oh well.

Just very briefly

Al Franken 1988
Penn and Teller 2012

Cool, I met Al Franken back in 1982. He and Tom Davis did a show at my college then.

Have u seen a movie called "One More Saturday Night". It features Franken and Davis. Nice little 80's comedy.

That’s how I bumped into him. They were doing a show at the University of Florida in 1988. I worked in the student union which included hotel rooms. I was walking out of the elevator and he was walking in. I said “Hey, you’re Al Franken”. He responded “Yep” and that was it.

i once walked by rufus wainwright on our waterfront walkway. he was playing a gig that evening at a venue up the street, and was talking a pre-show stroll by himself, i guess. he was dressed to the nines and singing aloud as he ambled along. he's even more annoyingly good-looking in person.

i didn't bother him, but i did give him a friendly nod. that's not really 'meeting' him, but it's the best i got.

unless you wanna count the fact i used to work with the ex-pm of canada's brother.

I met Nick Nolte one night on Ft Lauderdale beach. We talked about his '67 Harley until the vultures surrounded him.
He seemed ok.

too many athletes to list, some actors and musicians -- nearly all are NYC-metro area based. I worked at a production house where actors came in for dubbing. And I know a lot of screenwriters as well but I wouldn't consider them famous in the way you're suggesting.

Most were cool as long as you don't go all fanboy on them.

I'll say this: I never ran into Bill Murray when he wasn't sloshed.

And this: Two really wanted your attention. Eddie Murphy and Debbie Gibson.

reply

Debbie Gibson would take any attention she can get at this point.

reply

sure but this was long ago

reply

she probably sensed her career wouldn't last long.
