What famous people have you met?

I've met quite a few at celebrity events and such.
Just a few:
Martin Landau.---2015 in L.A. I had breakfast with him and he was yelling at the waiter: "No good, no good, this egg isn't hard enough, I need a HARD boiled egg. Now PLEASE!" So over the top, obviously still acting. He was funny. Later he went outside for a smoke. I guess when you're in your 80s you can do whatever you want. But had he quit he'd probably still be alive.
Barbara Eden- 2014--Chicago-- Just asked how her dog Djinn Djinn was and stuff.
Ed Asner-2017 Chicago.-- Met him while he was eating lunch: a tamale. He's funny too.
A few others:
Chuck Negron (of 3 Dog Night)
Kim Darby
Lesley Ann Warren
Robert Clary (Lebeau)
And 1994: Jay Leno interviewed me in the NYC subway for a segment for the Tonight Show that never aired. I don't really like him anyway (he's not as bad as Letterman though, but so far below Carson).
1994-- Sarah Silverman in NYC before she was famous handing out flyers for a comedy club. I said I wasn't interested. Then she started a kind of comedy bit at my expense (if you know her type of humor). I should have gone, oh well.

I went to a Great Collapse gig in 2016, held in a small club in Budapest. Before the show I've met lead singer Thomas Barnett in the restroom, and I told him I enjoyed their concert with Strike Anywhere 7 years earlier. After the show I took a selfie on stage with Chris Chasse (ex-guitarist of Rise Against). I have selfies with the guitarist of A Wilhelm Scream and the lead singer of The Real McKenzies.

I also shared a stage once with Queen guitarist Jamie Moses, Havasi, Leona Lewis, Lebo M, Ronan Keating, Lisa Gerrard and had a photo taken with them as well. I have a photo with The Moog, the (hungarian) band who play 'Survive' in the Shameless S01 trailer.

Oh, and F1 pilot Nico Rosberg!

I delivered for a messenger service in the 1980s so most are from then.

Mel Brooks - 1980s Elevator in Century City. VERY nice and friendly.
Jamie Lee Curtis - 1980s Elevator in Century City too but different time. Also very nice and friendly (and hot!).
Roy Scheider - 1980s Hotel in Hollywood. Very quiet but nice.
Robert Downey Jr. - Partying with a friend (Robert Rustler) after he was in Weird Science. Very quiet and reserved.
Anthony Michael Hall - Same as above. He was a very outgoing life of the party type. Fun dude.
Heather Thomas - Her home in Santa Monica. Totally awestruck by her beauty! She was nice.
David Horowitz - His office at Warner Bros. (I think). He was a dick.
Jack Russell (singer for Great White) Drove him to a party at Ronnie James Dio's house (Dio wasn't there, lol) Super cool.

Wow I am impressed.

david horowitz - the slightly nutty neo-con writer?

i actually just read 'the anti-chomsky reader,' which he co-edited and contributed to, funnily enough. i bought it back when it was released in '04, and threw it on my 'someday' pile, where it sat until a few weeks ago, when i found it while cleaning my closet.

horowitz is a kook, but the book's got some good stuff in it.

The envelope I gave him wasn't sealed and he was pretty accusatory about me opening it. I assured him, I didn't but it was clear he didn't believe me. In his defense, I was a long haired 19(ish) year old rocker, in shorts and not in the least bit professional looking. Maybe he was having a bad day.

reply

If this was the '80s he would have been in his 40s. I don't doubt he was rude. He went from far left to far right pretty quickly.

reply

Wow, you met Robert Downey Jr. in the '80s? He must've been high as a kite!

reply

He was pretty young then. Weird Science had just come out (1985). I don't think he was burning hard yet but I could be wrong. He was very quiet and reserved. Anthony Michael Hall was the one with the bad rep, at that time.

In 2010 I met Thomas F Wilson (Bif from Back to the Future) when I was umpiring his kids baseball game.

Other then that it's been mostly professional wrestlers. I met Sable, Mick Foley, and Val Venus at autograph signings in the late 90's.

I also used to chat with Corey Haim on Myspace around 2007-2008.

I saw Anne Murray's tax returns when I worked with the Tax Dept back in the late 1980s

Bobby Heenan

I’ve me some kind of famous people at the Arnold Classic.

It feels weird. I might be a fan of these people but I don’t really have anything to say to them. Uh, hi. Big fan. Bye.

reply

I loved The Brain

reply

He didn’t seem like he was in a great mood and he may have been in bad health at the time. Wasn’t a great experience but he was awesome at what he did so it was kind of cool either way.

reply

Columbus OH representing! Also Bobby The Brain was a great commentator and manager.

Personally, I've met none, but I know a good amount of people who have.

A friend's mom of mine actually was an extra in a Adam Sandler movie, she said he looked pretty tired whenever they would interact.

My own mother met Al Green while jogging at a park when she was younger.

My Uncle went to college with CNN's Van Jones.

I went to school with the niece of Jim Carrey.

And last but not least, my friend's grandmother met Jimmy Hoffa when she was a child due to her father being the local union representative in town, she went on a airplane ride with him.

I've only met two really famous people, Russell Crowe and Diana Ross. They were both nicer than a lot of stories would have you believe.
