My stimulus money came in this morning aaaaaand...

It's gone!
Two tires, alignment, wheel bearings and seals, and a 3" lowering kit.
After labor... it's all gone. And probably a bit more.
Oh well, I was gonna do it anyway. Now I can keep My money in the bank cuz President Trump took care of it for me!
It'll be worth it in the long run - better handling and gas mileage, not to mention moving my baby even further from the scrapyard.
It's been an up and down day... time for a beer and a bowl πŸ˜€

"Now I can keep My money in the bank"

How about taking just a little of that money and taking me out to eat. Preferably Texas Road House. This is what I want. Plus two or three beers with it. Thanks in advance!

Oh hell if you are driving just keep the beers coming!

reply

Uh-hunh. Well, uh, tell me about yourself lol πŸ˜€

reply

I forgot to ask. Are you female or male?

reply

55 year old hillbilly that looks alot like Hagrid lol!

reply

No dinner for us. It would just look to weird. A hillbilly and guy in suit and tie going out to eat! LOL

reply

Okay then, just the beer πŸ˜•
Smoke?
One thing - no one would mess with us.
Not everyday you see outlaw bikers and mafia hanging out lol!

reply

LOL But sure a beer (well more than one would be great)

BTW I was joking about the suit and tie. Have not wore that for well over a decade.

reply

I wore one most days for just over ten years. Invested heavily. Ties, vests, wingtips, cuff links, yada yada.
Haven't even owned slacks for almost twenty years.
Now it's mostly denim and leather. Some flannel lol

reply

Got mine today too

reply

It's been awhile since money came and went so fast lol! It's nice to have. What kinda wildness are you gonna get into?

reply

Nothing right away. I'm gonna use my savings to move. I've got to leave Az.

reply

a new laptop??

reply

Not a priority

reply

That sounds ominous.

reply

It is.

reply

It's nice here. Quiet.

reply

CA HAS SOME BENEFITS...

reply

Cant be there either.

reply

WELL SHIT...ILLHAVE TO MOVE TOO THEN...MAKE SURE TO TELL ME WHERE.

reply

Where are you thinking of moving? To where your parents are living? Somewhere else?

reply

Vermont or Michigan

reply

Both beautiful places, I've heard. A big change from AZ. ... Not that AZ doesn't have beauty, it's that it's a very different kind of beauty.

reply

It's a dry beauty.

reply

Oh we hate that

reply

I've never been to Michigan, but Vermont is beautiful. If you can handle the cold winters, its a paradise in the summer.

reply

I think were going with Michigan because Vermont is pricey.
I've been to Vermont, it is beautiful. Billboards are illegal there. And I believe it may be the only state without a McDonald's. Rock on Vermont.

reply

Congrats!

It's probably going to take a while for mine to arrive, since I've had a boatload of changes of addresses in the past year.

reply

Mine is tied into ssdi so they know my whereabouts and pretty much.every.thing.else. It sucks but hey. I hope yours comes soon, you deserve to have that security after all the drama. As long as you've kept up on the address changes, forwarding and such, you should be good. Might go online and update the dmv, ss, and especially the irs.

reply

Plus you haven't moved a ridiculous number of times in a year 😊. I have kept up on address changes and forwarding with the USPS, and with my CCs, banks, and so on but forget about the DMV, IRS, and SS. The latter mostly because I've forgotten what passwords I used to sign up, or even which email, so it's a PITA.

I do get direct deposits on my checks, so maybe they'll just do that and my address changes won't matter? 🀞

Thanks, Cruz. It's so nice to have finally caught a break.

reply

Mine is due tomorrow, at least according to that IRS tracking website.

reply

Do you happen to have the URL handy? I'd like to look mine up.

reply

Yes, I do. Here ya go ...
irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment

Once there, you'll have to post your Social Security number and street address.

reply

Thank you. Well that probably won't work because they don't know my new street address. I could try using my last address though.

reply

The old address worked! Says they've scheduled my check to be mailed May 1st, so I expect in about a week it'll arrive at my current address. Thanks!

reply

Mine said May 1st as well, so I was surprised to find it in my mailbox today. Happy times!

reply

Yours came today? Woo hoo!!! πŸŽ‰

Maybe mine's been deposited. I'll check.

What are you doing to do with yours?

I'm going to buy a portable air conditioner and maybe this very cool looking white leather lounging couch. If it's comfortable.

reply

Sounds like good investments ;)

reply

I already spent $400 dollars on silver, so other than that, maybe some summer clothes and the rest will go in the bank.

Good call on the AC. I can't imagine living without one in the summer. I would literally not sleep.

reply

It's happening in record time. So far. It's the Fed, states, banks etc so something is gonna break down at some point. But hell I've Never seen the gov move like this.

reply

A GUY NAMED CRUZ WHO LOVES HIS CAR,BEER AND A BOWL....YOURE A STEREOTYPE,BRO.....I WISH I GOT SOME MONEY...THE EVIL OLD LADY STOLE IT AND SQUIRRELED IT AWAY.

She got your stimulus or she just got your money in general?
Either way, I remember the saying about standing by the river - eventually your enemies will float past.
Patience.

reply

Mine is being sent on May 1st. I've already spent $400 dollars on silver when the price dropped back in March. I'll probably spend another $200 on whatever and put the rest in the bank.

reply

Yeah I've been looking at silver too. I think it might drop some more. This is good time to buy. I've been saving to get this done and now I can keep it in the bank.

reply

Id wait to buy any until this crisis calms down. Premiums are ridiculously high. Around $10 over spot for Silver Eagles as an example.

reply

Sure is nice of them to send our own money back to us.

reply

No doubt. And as usual bastards are out there snatching up money they don't need.

reply

What kind of car?

reply

1978 Chevrolet Big 10. The mechanicals are mostly done after this. Probably have to redo the exhaust.
I figure in a year or so I can get serious about the body. It's basically rotten.
You like old cars?

reply

I do but when you said you were lowering it, I was thinking different. I have a BMW Z4 that handles fabulously. :)

reply

That's the whole point. I've rebuilt the suspension and drivetrain, added sway bars front and back, rebuilt the steering from the wheel down. Lowering it will bring down the center of gravity, reduce lean, and reduce drag.
Always wanted to drive a Z4 ;)
Ol Bessie still handles like a truck, but now it handles more like a new sport truck. Blows the young guys minds around here lol.

reply

Yep. I definitely have a soft spot for lowered trucks!

reply

Were you thinking about air effects? Affects? Air dam, splitter, side skirts?

reply

No. Before I got my Z4, I had a Miata that I lowered. Made a world of difference.

reply

Oh Hell yeah, especially those little roadsters.

reply

For exhaust I’d go headers to 2 1/2 inch True duals To flowmasters then turn downs just before the rear end. If you really want to spend money go stainless. πŸ˜€

reply

Had to go with 2 1/4 cuz he was out of the other. Presently they turn out in front of the tires. Probably gonna have to cut em before the bend to do the new shackle and it sounds like one of my flowmasters is about to give up, so I'm sure collectors back is in the future.
I don't get excited about looks, time enough for that later.
I'm all about function! ;)

reply

I’ve got a 98’ second generation Dodge 3500 with the Cummins turbo diesel I’m sinking a lot of blood, sweat and money into presently. I love the LMC catalogs with their exploded views for ordering.

reply

I looked for an ancient 1 ton diesel 4X4 for around 3 months.
Then Dad's Dodge dually needed front end work. Good Lord I didn't know it was that damn expensive!!
The next day I found my big 10. Whew!
I wish you alotta good luck, buddy ;)

reply

I’m starting off with a pretty solid truck so I don’t mind spending a chunk on it. It’s got a standard transmission and that’s a plus in a Dodge for me. πŸ‘

reply

Gotta love a stickshift!
