USA now officially has the most total number of cases in the world.

Wow. About +13,000 new cases in one day. They're at about 82,000 total cases. Surpassed China. Link: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

I believe the Chinese numbers. I think they took steep measures and have a compliant populace. We won’t be so fortunate.

I can believe that argument too. The Chinese will obey their government since they're "used to it". I live in Canada, and the population here and in the US aren't too compliant to government control.

This does not take into account all the unconfirmed cases in the world. Unless you test every individual on the planet, we will never know the true number.

The true number can be estimated from a small sample of population to a desired precision by statistical analysis. The error in the estimated number can probably be reduced to less than 5% depending on sample size.

China stopped reporting cases, and has been fudging numbers from the start. Their telcoms have lost 7 million or so subscribers.

You mean the US has admitted the highest number of cases.

That's a very different thing from actually having the highest number of cases.
