have you had anything cancelled yet because of corona

two things today - my annual physical on march 24 was pushed back two months which is fine because i really don't want to hang out in a doctor's office and a two day work seminar scheduled for april 6th and 7th has been cancelled - no great loss.

also, i may be working from home if this continues. the sky is falling.

Yes, my job just cancelled an important upcoming all day meeting because everyone (except for a few of us) is in a batshit panic...not that a cancelled work meeting is a bad thing but it WAS an important meeting and one of the very few annual work get togethers worth having...most of them are 'team-building' garbage, this one is at least always productive...

I'd like to remind everybody that you could endure a Charles Manson level home invasion this evening, get hit by a truck tomorrow or succumb to the common flu which will wipe out hundreds of thousands of us annually

I call shenanigans, these news channels are full of it, there ARE real threats out there, this is just the latest fad

I was with you on thinking this was the news media yet again hyping things up and scaring the pants off of everyone so people will keep watching.

But now I've changed my tune. Damo posted a link to a good article about it, likening this to the little boy who cried wolf too often. It is like that.

Thanks Cat (and Damo!) for sharing that link, interesting reading.

You're welcome, Silver :). Damo has come up with some great info about all of this!

I’ve been listening to him for weeks. The man is no nonsense and non political.

We're being told to work from home on Friday as a test run in case they need us to for real in the near future. As for cancelled, not yet but I'm 99% certain they will be either canceling or postponing the Boston Marathon (or possibly restricting it to elite runners like Tokyo did). It's the uncertainty of it that's really driving me crazy right now.

I wasn't going, but the NCAA tournament is not going to be allowing any fans into the game other than family members and "essential personnel".

Wild. It'll be weird watching without any fans in the stands.

Nothing's been cancelled on me but I cancelled a meeting I had scheduled for yesterday. Not a big deal, I'll reschedule after things have calmed down.

Unfortunately Russian Circles cancelled their gig in Budapest on the 31st of March, which I had tickets for.

Meetings and classes at work are cancelled until further notice. A ballet performance I desperately wanted to see has been cancelled. At the local university, finals are going to take place online, so the students don't have to come to class.

My social life has been cancelled, although the gruntwork goes os. Since my job brought me into the same building as a genuine case, and nothing reliable is known about the transmission of the disease, I've told my older or frailer friends and relatives I won't be seeing them in person until further notice.

Yes, my parents were due to be flying out here to Singapore for a visit tomorrow but we’ve postponed the trip because my dad is 72 years old, diabetic and has had a chesty cough for several weeks, so his doctor strongly advised him to avoid flying.

Some events are cancelled here but otherwise it’s life as normal, but we are now all accustomed to having our temperatures taken multiple times each day.

All international tournaments in the pro League scene are either postponed or cancelled. And the school I used to go to is in the talks about doing some online courses instead.
