Popcorn ๐Ÿฟ

Microwave or make it yourself?

I prefer to make it myself, but microwave has its moments - quicker, easy, no mess, no clean-up.

reply

Stove top is better, you can jazz it up with butter or pepper

reply

You put pepper on popcorn? What's wrong with you?? Don't you know it's all about the salt??

reply

I like both salt and pepper
There is a lot wrong with me๐Ÿ˜„

reply

But we love you anyway!

reply

Bring ALL the pity, I may require it๐Ÿ˜‚

reply

Oh, you! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Pity? No. Sympathy? Maybe.

reply

Oh c'mon now, sympathy is for boys that cry lol
It's all going to square itself, even if I have to kick the corners!

I like pepper on my popcorn...and I'll just keep chugging along, a dash of salt wouldn't hurt๐Ÿ˜—

reply

Microwave.

reply

Do you have a preferred brand?

reply

Idk, I used some Panasonic models they are all right. Sharp and Samsung too. Never had any problem with my microwave ovens.

reply

Oops. I meant the brand of popcorn.

reply

Ah. Jolly Time is probably my favorite.

reply

Orville Redenbacher for me.

reply

Act II is fine too.

reply

It's been awhile since I tried Act II. Maybe next time I'll give it a go.

reply

Loyal Redenbacher customer for years - but recently there was some Jolly Time on sale very cheap (kernels, not microwave bags) and it is really good and I doubt I could distinguish it from Redenbacher's.

reply

Buy it at the cinema. Easier.

๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

Well, I don't go to the cinema, so...

reply

Well then, that would be a problem.

๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

I gave up on the cinema decades ago. Rude audience members.

reply

Sadly, that IS still a problem.

๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

Yep, and this was long before cell phones. I couldn't take the constant chatter by others in the audience. I said "no more" and I didn't.

Happily, we have the option now of watching at home. Pausing for food/drink or bathroom breaks is fabulous!

reply

The pausing for pee breaks is mostly why I stay home. (well that and it's too expensive)

reply

What! How much does it cost to pee? Lol.

reply

When you are at a movie theatre, it depends on how much the movie is and how many times you have to pee. For me, it's too expensive.

reply

I was just joking around.

reply

I know....I guess I should have added an emoji so you knew that my response was a little bit of smart ass. ๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

LOL

reply

LOL! I was gonna do that joke, but you beat me to it.

๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

Great minds....

reply

Yes.

๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

Yep!

๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

Go to the matinees. Sometimes youโ€™ll have the theater all by your lonesome! ๐Ÿ˜Š

reply

I try to do this - bliss!

reply

It's delicious at the theater, but a little bit too much butter. Plus, if you get that, you've gotta get something to drink with it, because of all the salt, and then you gotta worry about having to go to the bathroom during the movie, despite preparing before going in. It's a bit of a dilemma for me.

reply

I drink after the movie.

๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

I never learned how to make it the old-fashioned way. It's microwave all the way for me.

reply

Yeah, it's a lot easier that way. You can pick your variety - plain, buttered, kettle corn, etc. It's so easy and quick.

reply

I don't eat popcorn a lot but when I do, I microwave it.

reply

Microwave.

reply

I can't eat popcorn. It messes up my intestines.

reply

It's all that fiber, probably.

reply

I use this https://salbree.com/collections/salbree-microwave-popcorn-popper

It is super easy to use and works great

reply

Do you use just regular popcorn with this? Seems like the best of both worlds.

reply

Yep.

Regular popcorn and you don't need oil like an air popper--but it's easier to use and easier to clean than an air popper.
