Ricky Gervais too nice this year

Ughh I was so excited Ricky was gonna host the golden globes this year and what a disappointment he was awfully censored this time.

He wasn’t his truly trolling self, he behaved way too nice.
If they were going to bring him back to let him go loose.

MOST PEOPLE FEEL THE OPPOSITE.

Amen! I wouldn't waste my time watching the show, but I saw some video, and he ripped those Hollyweird phonies a new one! I LOVED it!

Well at the beginning he was great and yes his monologue started so good but his presenting the people going on stage wasn’t like other years.

But yes his starting monologue was pretty good he did start pretty good. That’s why I was disappointed latter on.

I thought he probably was at his very best, the joke on Harvey Weinstein, Leo Di Caprio and Judi Dench had me laughing. Besides Joaquin Phoenix, he was probably the best thing about the Golden Globes this year.

You seem to be in the minority.

I didn't watch, but I read some posts about it. Apparently he opened the show telling the crowd that they were pretentious and knew nothing about the real world and should use their speeches to thank people instead of lecturing on politics.

I wouldn't call that too nice.

Also took them to task on Weinstein and Epstein. Pretty much called them hypocrites, but in the form of a joke.

I loved his Weinstein comments. Told the whole room they enabled his monstrous behavior, that's on them.

reply

He had some really good puns without insulting anybody. He was at his best.

reply

That's pretty cool. The Australian Prime Minister recently told Big Businesses something similar. That they should stop lecturing and pushing political agendas and if they really want to make their employees lives better they should pay them more.

Actor calls out actors. In a related story, pot calls kettle black. News at 11.

I rather enjoyed hearing that he told the arrogant, know-it-all idiots in the 'biz to stuff it.
