What is your Favourite show which got cancelled on a Cliffhanger?

NO SPOILERS PEOPLE!!! Since some of us may still want to watch the series mentioned.

Mine was the 2002 Dominic Purcell TV series John Doe. Which was (if you haven't seen it) about a guy who appears to know everything about every subject imaginable, whereas the only things he doesn't know is who he really is and how he is able to know everything. The series follows him as he lends his talents to his local police department so he can help them solve murders and mysteries. Although the show was able to answer the questions as to who he was and how he knows everything, they did decide to end it on a cliffhanger which even 18 years later will always make me wonder where this show could have gone if it had continued with the story.

Invasion 2005

reply

I really liked that and it just went away.

just one season. it was not fair.

Also another one, from the 60's - the Invaders. I watched that every week and then it was cancelled.

reply

I know it goes way back, but the unresolved cliffhangers in SOAP always bothered me.

reply

I loved Soap! Broke my heart when it was cancelled.

reply

I had forgotten about that. So frustrating!

reply

I remember when I was a kid Mork and Mindy ended on a pretty big cliffhanger and I never fully got over that.

reply

Wow, John Doe, good pull. I followed that show closely, as did a few friends, and we were abuzz with speculation on where the next season would go. So disappointing that it was cancelled.

My pick would have to be Terriers. It was a pretty fresh take on a detective show, and the story seemed to be building up to bigger developments going forward. The final episode ends at a crossroad where the main character has to make a pivotal decision, and the final moments are the epitome of open-ended storytelling.

Terriers was a good show also, I can't honestly remember the last episode, but am viewing that as a good thing as it will incite me to go back and re-watch the show over again.

Remember that early 2000s series about mutants that are almost X-Men but not exactly X-Men? Looks like a cheap Chinese knockoffs would do. Yeah, Mutant X, I love that show. It ended with an unsatisfying cliffhanger because, obviously, lawsuits.

Constantine.
Dead Like Me.

Two shows that I loved and died too early.
