I was think about this and went through my imdb ratings...Hmmm

I finally chose Like Water for Chocolate. 1992 Probably one of the few foreign films I've watched multiple times. Such a great film.

I love ❤❤ Like Water For Chocolate. The book is better but I adore the film. I also like Y Tu Mama Tambien (2001) and Jules & Jim (1962).

Edit to add Man Bites Dog (1992)

When I saw that in my Imdb rating list I was like Ahh. Yes what a great romantic movie.

So much better than the American version!

reply

I think the American version was for the most part pretty well done and had a couple things unique to it that were improvements (car crash was a great scene). But I agreee that the original was indeed better.

That film is absolutely beautiful. I just recently got the soundtrack on vinyl. It’s one of those films I could have playing in the background all the time.

Come and See (1985)
Man From Deep River (1972)
Lady Snowblood (1973)
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (1966)
