Indian food is delicious

Just ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and a mango lassi DoorDash.

Lol I don’t think so

reply

I'm Indian myself and I think it depends on the person though. I love it but I know other Indians that don't like it. I love Samosas, and Aloo gobi though. Garlic Naan as well. Hmmm....

What spice is it that Indians use that has such a strong smell?

reply

It's not just one spice though. That's the thing about India. We use a whole variety of things which contributes to that smell. It's a very diverse cuisine. Here is a good link that lists some of them (not all): https://www.thekitchn.com/11-essential-spices-for-indian-cooking-223152

Tumeric is a popular one. So is coriander and cumin. You'll see those in every Indian household.

reply

I put turmeric and coriander on almost everything.

reply

Tumeric is supposedly really good for you. I think it's an anti-inflammatory??

reply

Depends on the person. I know some Indians who eat it and some that don't. I also know quite a few who are total vegetarians.

It's the world's finest quisine imo.

Not that I'm the final authority on such matters.

I go to the Indian buffet down the street every two weeks to fill my arteries with death. If my waistline and wallet could handle it I'd go every night.

I'm in Philly.

I went into this pizza place, Sicilian Pizza, and it was run by Indians. Eventually, I asked them why they weren't making Indian themed pizza, then the guy pointed it out! They have Indian cheesecakes and all kinds of stuff sort of off the menu.

Shirley you must be choking...

reply

Chilli chicken biryani, naan, and white sauce. Fire!

reply

Ew, white sauce!

reply

I'm Indian and I don't know what white sauce is?

reply

I don't know about anywhere else but white sauce in Australia can be made with milk and flour and chopped parsley for having with lamb. And yoghurt was sometimes referred to as white sauce in souvlaki take-away places.

reply

I don't really like the spicy dishes, but the rest is really good.

reply

Indian food has gotta be the most versatile dish in the world. Different parts of India have completely different dishes. Very interesting and unique. Personally for me, the spicier the better. But then again, I am Indian, so I'm used to it.

Is goat traditionally used in Indian cuisine? I ask because I always order boneless goat (extra spicey), dal, and paratha from this place down the street. Gives me the shits but I can’t get enough of it.

reply

I believe some places do. Lamb is popular.

reply

Pretty much all food is awesome to me. Anything too slow to get away Must be food lol.
