Today I was at the doctor and the secretary was asking me a bunch of questions. Then when she asked me how old I was, I said : "37. No, 38. Wait, 37." She snickered and I felt like such an idiot. I honestly wasn't even sure.
shareOh hell yeah. I had to count on my fingers once like a maroon. Literally not something I think about. I don't celebrate birthdays or anything, it just doesn't come up. And the older you get, like 5 years will feel like one year. Time gets real wonky.

What I don't know is how people think of me at my age.
Sometimes I see attractive young people among the polyglot of humanity and would like to talk to them, much as I like to talk to anyone who looks receptive to having social conversation.
Yet, I get the feeling young people don't understand why I might want to speak with them like we are peers, like I'm some old guy who doesn't have a clue. A pretty accurate assessment from their perspective but I'd still like to talk without the stigma of being "an old guy."
For young people, they think anybody above 30 is old.
