i know where you're coming from, though i'd say that 13/40 is a pretty darned good ratio. certainly no other streaming service has 1/3 of my favourite films of last year available right now, unless i want to rent them.
but sure, if i go looking for something specific, like i really wanna see boogie nights tonight, odds are i will have zero luck finding it on netflix. so i certianly wish it was better.
i guess i take a glass half full approach with netflix. they certainly don't give me everything i want, but when i go looking, i almost always find something to see.
i mean, i just took a glance at what shows up for me when i go to netflix's front page, & i saw:
shoplifters
apocalypse now
get out
psycho
killing of a sacred deer
the stranger
drive
the witch
baby driver
the guilty
we the animals
the ballad of buster scruggs
goodfellas
do the right thing
dazed & confused
short term twelve
mid 90s
the death of stalin
certain women
close encounters
kubo & the two strings
hunt for the wilderpeople
8th grade
eternal sunshine
i tonya
hereditary
the babadook
border
good time
spring breakers
& that's just strolling through the front page, no digging.
those are all good to great to me, all interesting & worth watching. i've seen most of them already, but i'd be happy to watch any of them again.
i don't think that's a bad service.
i don't work for netflix. i'm not trying to make anyone else give them money. but i'm very happy to continue to pay them my monthly fee as long as they have a solid selection of pretty good films like those.
