Russian early 90s pop song from 1992.

Pretty good early 90s danceable synth-pop track.

Been away for a bit, so I might do some make-up time:

I hope I haven't posted this recently - I lose track - but this song many of us are well aware of, but it gets over-shadowed by the rest of the album, a very excellent album indeed.

But I find it a nice way to honor Sandy Denny, who beat the 26 Club but only by a few short years.
I believe she died at 31, being drunk and falling down a flight of stairs. The Real Story might different, but that's what I'm putting out there. She once may have been the Queen of British Folk Rock, but Who Knows Where The Time Goes?

This is a Stone Zep tune, but Sandy is a big part of it.

You have posted about her before, Who Knows Where The Time Goes was her last performance

Sad story, lovely voice and an all time great song

This has been an Ear Worm lately, Cynical Girl by Marshall Crenshaw

I'm going out looking for a Cynical Girl
Who's got no use for the Real World
I'm looking for a Cynical Girl

I'll know right away by the Look in her Eyes
She holds no Illusions and she's Worldy-Wise
And I know when I give her a Listen
That she's what I've been Missing

I'll be Lost In Love and having some fun with my Cynical Girl
We'll have no use for the Real World
I'm looking for a Cynical Girl.

Never a bad time to drop in this song. Fun-da-ment-al Rock n Roll.

crenshaw's debut is one of the great 80s records. he never made a really solid album after that, at least not that i heard, but every one of them has two or three tracks that are pure pop bliss.

starless summer sky is a personal favourite.

You should have been there.

I always forget the hotshot slide player who plays here but he is boss.

This is a rare vid where I actually enjoy it as it augments the song

But as a non-musician it seems there are some odd time changes going on.
Not constantly, but just in a couple spots. Makes for a more interesting listen, but I can't put my finger on it.

that was the first crenshaw album i bought actually. fished the vinyl out of a $1.00 remainder bin back in 86 or so. that's definitely one of my favourite crenshaw tracks - & i agree, there is something in either changes, or just when his vocal enters in the chorus that seems slightly odd but in a really satisfying way.

This is a Shout Out to Andy.
I really don't like ELO, like not at all.

But then I remembered this song. I DO like this song.

Lovely, I'm always a fan of a good cover song.

She first had a hit with it as a dance version:

I like her acoustic version better, the dance version is too EDM for me.

reply

I have no problem with dance music, but I also prefer the acoustic version.
