At least here in the US, I think its hypocritical and unfair that men can go to the beach without a shirt and women can't in most instances. We all have nipples, so what the hell is the big deal?
Last time I was in Mexico, there was a large number of Europeans at the resort and many of them were topless. No one cared, no one stared, no one gawked.

shareAs a woman, I don't have an issue with it. All women have boobs, so other women having them is about as shocking as looking into a mirror aka not at all. Also, I think it's one of things where the problem isn't with the women, but with the people gawking at the women - so why should the women have to suffer to appease the gawkers?

shareEuropeans seem further evolved on this topic. Make the US attitudes seem juvenile and archaic. That being said, dudes with hairy backs, moobs, and/or a flabby gut need to put on t-shirt.
