Songs that sound like they were recorded by someone else.
For a long time I thought ‘At Last’ by Etta James was actually sung by Ella Fitzgerald.

It was The Hollies.
A lot of Genesis songs sound like Phil Collins.
share"A lot of Genesis songs sound like Phil Collins."
I certainly hope so, mrbobbyth. You see, Phil Collins was in Genesis! He joined the band in 1970 as the drummer, percussionist and backing singer. In 1977, then lead vocalist, Peter Gabriel, left the band and Phil Collins became the lead vocalist, a position he held until he left in 1996. During his time with Genesis, he also released several solo albums.
I know, I was just kidding around. But I was unaware of the Peter Gabriel part.
shareI can't help but think of American Psycho, every time Phil Collins is mentioned.
shareHorse With No Name by American sounds like Neil Young.

It really does sound like him, and something he would do so it's not just vocal similarity.
shareGood one, very similar voice
shareMaybe he should do a cover.
shareI thought "Love Yourself" was not sung by Justin Beiber. Not sure who, but definitely NOT Justin Beiber.
shareJessie by Joshua Kadison. First time I heard it on the radio way back I was certain it was Elton John singing. ⤵️

1982s “Gloria “ by Laura Brannigan sounded just like Donna Summer. Brannigan loved the comparison but I don’t think Summer did.
shareSame - about Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald.
Also, for some reason, when I heard Where the City Meets the Sea by The Getaway Plan, I was almost positive it was sung by Missy Higgins.
