Burnham in Panic Room.

reply

I think Burnham lived.

reply

Yeah, he did, but we don't know what sentence he got.

reply

True.

I assumed the thread was about characters who were almost definitely fated for some sort of grisly (i.e. fatal) end.

Clearly Burnham was in trouble, but he still lived, and going back to the house to save Meg, Sarah and Stephen would most likely have been a mitigating factor in his sentencing. If he hadn't gone back to protect them from Raoul, he could easily have gotten away with the bearer bonds.

But if we're going to include characters that likely ended up in prison, as opposed to dead, I guess we should include Theo and Kristoff in Die Hard. Those two guys are going to have to carry the can for all the deaths and chaos caused by Hans and the rest of his deceased henchmen.

reply

It's possible Burnham got the death sentence, it all depends on what Meg and Sarah said in court, we assume they would be grateful for being saved and try to lower his sentence, but for all we know they might've also lied and said he killed the other ones in cold blood to get the money for himself. Even if he came around in the end he was just as guilty as the rest to the things they put the family through. They might've still hated him.

reply

Meg and Sarah were the heroes. I'd hope they wouldn't tell such a mean-spirited lie.

reply

Me too, but if they don't make a sequel we'll never know.
