Another memorable and unique bit is Bob Newhart talking on the phone. We only hear his half of the conversation, and that's probably what makes it funny.
And does anybody remember The Bickerson's? I think it was strictly a radio thing. I think it was Don Ameche and some woman and they would do exactly that, bicker, argue and yell at each other. Don't know if it was hilarious but I heard it in the middle of the night where a local radio station would play old shows ala War Of The Worlds and Jack Benny. Really caught me by surprise and I don't think I've heard anything about it again.
I love Bob Newhart! My favorite episode of the Bob Newhart Show is the Thanksgiving episode when Emily went to spend it with her family in Seattle, and Bob and "the guys" watched football and got drunk. Durr. D period R period. Durr.
I've listened to quite a few old radio shows. I really enjoy Jack Benny's show. I've heard of the Bickersons, but haven't had the opportunity to listen. I'll have to check my library for it.
