why does anyone commit murder these days
you will be caught in a week
shareI murdered someone yesterday and I got away with it!
shareHe said "caught in a week". Let's see if you're still bragging in six days.
shareI shot a man in Reno
Just to watch him die
40% in the USA go unsolved
https://www.vox.com/2018/9/24/17896034/murder-crime-clearance-fbi-report
Those clearance rates are alarming
I would think/hope they would be much higher for all crimes

Quite high!
shareMama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, oh ohÂ
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

All around in my home town
They're trying to track me down
They say they want to bring me in guilty
For the killing of a deputy
For the life of a deputy, but I say
I shot the sheriff, but I swear it was in self-defense
I shot the sheriff, and they say it is a capital offense
the reason people get caught is often enough, the act is done impulsively, in such a way that detection is made easier.
a thoroughly evil person can always get away with murder, if they use patience & plan well. it helps to be a sociopath.
i wonder what percentage of premeditated murderers are sociopath/psychopaths - i'm guessing pretty high. there's probably a spectrum on all that, too.
Actually sociopaths tend to be more impulsive and careless than psychopaths. Psychopaths plan their crimes VERY carefully, and are thus more likely to get away with them.

Me and Billy the Kid never got along
I didn't like the way he cocked his hat and he wore his gun all wrong
One day I said to Billy, "I've got this fool proof scheme.
We'll rob the Wells Fargo, it's bustin' at the seams !"
I admit that I framed him but I don't feel bad
'Cause the way we was living was driving me mad.
Billy reached for his gun but his gun was on wrong.
Y'know me and Billy the Kid? We never got along !
Will you though??
