New Years Eve....

What are you all doing for New Years Eve? My husband and I are going to watch the ball drop on tv, eat snacks and drink Martinelli's sparkling apple cider :)

We celebrated our family Christmas this weekend. Due to the weather, our weekend has been extended, which is fine with me! An extra day with the grandkids is a great way to end the year. I'm thankful that everyone is healthy this holiday season, unlike last year when our holiday celebration ended abruptly and early due to a stomach bug of some kind (yes, the puking kind).

The kids are all finally asleep so it's time to kick back and relax with a couple of adult beverages.

Happy New Year everyone! 🥂

You don’t often get something good from bad weather. Sounds like a great start to a new year.

You're right. Weather can easily ruin plans. Happy New Year, Jack!

How come the east coast feed of New Year's Rockin Eve never sticks around to see them celebrate New Years on the west coast? Is there some kind of network no-compete east/west thing? It's been that way for as long as I can remember. They added New Orleans years back, they still stay on the air an hour after that. They have a Hollywood feed. But when the time comes to actually see what they do out there, we're gone.

Anyhow, I sat around watching the tv coverage and designing this bitching teardrop travel trailer i'm gonna build.

I paid no mind to the New Year's Eve show but your Teardrop Trailer sounds very interesting
Those are really cool!

Have you priced out the framing lumber, sheet metal, electrical harness for the signals and a frame with axle yet?
Quite an undertaking!
Keep us up to date, I do admire and love a big project👍

I'm doing one of those standard Harbor Freight style trailer builds, but I went with the 5x8 Northern Tool one. Already got that picked up. I originally just wanted something to transport my kayaks around, but then I started realizing the full potential of what it could be. Just gonna tool away on this as a back of the shop project till the shell is finished, then attach it trailer and finish the insides. I'm a pretty competent carpenter and a git'r'done electrician. It might not be pretty but it should be strong and waterproof and well under a thousand pounds. Haven't decided if i'm doing the full blown kitchen or not. I want to get it rigged with solar panels too, but that's all new territory for me. It'll probably cost a thousand bucks by the time i'm done. But it will probably take me a year to build, so no biggie. I'll be making a blog all about it, i'll drop a link once it gets going. For years I was going to convert a covered trailer, but once I got towing one around I changed my mind. Small and low profile, cut through the wind. That's the ticket. Plenty of world to stand in if you need to stretch.
