Christmas Lights...

Do you like the colored ones or the clear white ones?

I put all of my white lights (strings, reindeer and various figures...) on my front lawn

The colored lights and figures i put out in the backyard
It looks cute but a bit tacky imo
I got a ton of colored lights from a family member who was moving...if its free its for me!

I prefer white lights for the holidays....
What do you all do?

The colored lights are tacky when overdone. Great to use when wanting something to stand out, "pop."

My family traditionally uses colored lights, mostly for our Christmas tree and sparingly for outside walkway trims and house molds. We do use white lights too but not as often. It really depends on what kind of decorations we decide to place for the year. A lot of it has to do with living in Florida, where it hardly ever snows to cover nature. So the multi-colors make for better foreground in my opinion.Believe me, we have a lot of decorations, Shogie.

We're very fond of displaying Santa Clause figurines, or at least I am, that stand about 1 foot tall (0.3 meters) each. They are made out of quality materials, cloth comprised of fine silk. They look wonderful with white lights surrounded by their colorful robes. They too, like most of our Christmas collection, are family heirlooms passed down through the generations. There's a strong sense of continuity with the passage of time, a reminder of things to look forward to in spite of uncertainty.

Sounds like you have it figured out twin...i should have expected as much!

PS: I really admire your sense of family
You always show your true colors when you speak of your family
You are a splendid fellow.

I talk about them a lot, don't I? It's only because they drive me crazy, in a good way, and I don't know where I would be without them.

In between your kids, significant other, in-laws, and your garage bunker, I can see why you have such a zany personality. I think you come by it naturally. You're a good man, Charlie Brown.

I think the white lights look very elegant outside. I like the multi-colored lights on the tree.

reply

I guess i prefer the white ones...elegant is a good word for it
I might go as far as to say classy...

My wife and kids love the colored ones so I go along with the program...the backyard looks like a circus lol but I just shut up and keep the peace๐Ÿ˜‰

I prefer white, but wait....what? You put colored lights and figures in your BACK yard? What's up with that?
Who will see them back there?

reply

The nextdoor neighbors do!

reply

Yeah, but that's not worth putting them up.

reply

I guess it depends. We have alleys here so it's a bit different.

Okay then.

reply

I wouldn't put up a display but lights would be good.

Multi-colored lights with random flickering in different timings and some parts that are unexplicably always on all the time. That's my favorite.

reply

Yeah, thats what i put out back
Not my favorite but the family likes it๐Ÿ‘

reply

Colored lights only. No white lights.

reply

Very Festive๐Ÿ‘

reply

I don't put up Christmas lights, but I have a few decorations in my living room.

reply

I love the indoor stuff too
Mostly white lights but some colors for the kids

reply

I prefer white lights, but it pisses me off when a neighborhoods bans colored lights. Has anyone else experienced this? It can be both official and unofficial in my experience.
