Apollo 13 was great
Possibly my wifes favorite movie ( i think she crushes on Tom Hanks and i cant really blame her)

I saw Apollo 13 for the first time a few days ago and wondered why I had avoided it for so long. Yes, it does somewhat come across as a chick flick because it's emotionally moving but that's just great drama.

Ok, this is where you lost me, relative to your OP. The families of the astronauts & the rest of the world sitting on pins & needles were irrelevant to this real life drama ? It was just another Hollywood macho trip? Aren't you really contradicting yourself here ?
