Have You Found A Friend?

A MC friend that you think you could hang out with in real life.
I like a lot of people here but not sure about real life.

Dazed is too smart for me. (plus we're feuding at the moment)
Mina knows my language better than I do
db is too prickly
hownos is Canadian. What would we do, look at Maple trees?
I wouldn't be able to keep up with ksp
MissMargo is great but her little garden shed gets scary at night
Stratego and the basement would be amazing but I can't walk around in wooden
shoes. I get splinters

YounkerSguy and I would have a blast but I feel we would get into way too much trouble.
Plus he can kick my ass. Not a fan of getting my ass kicked
captainbucky isn't a real captain so no
I feel Bubba would only call me every 3 months or so then disappear
Cat and I could hang out. We would probably hang with the pups all day.
That would be good but we really wouldn't accomplish much.

GE would be fun to hang out with but she doesn't have air conditioning.
MJF would be fun if he took me with him fishing the next time he took the grandkids.
croft has rejected me on numerous attempts

MovieMan travels too much
SK would be fun but I'd only see him once a week
Maybe harry but I think much alcohol would need to be involved
I feel TheMan would make me too tired

So have you found somebody here that you think you could hang out with IRL?

I'm a bit like Seymour from Ghost World. A lot of people say I look like Buscemi and I have a decent collection of music, nothing like his, though. And it's difficult connecting with people. Someone suggested OK Cupid, but I haven't tried it yet.
Lately I've been meeting a lot of people but because of this line of work, they usually have some illness (physical/mental/age related) they are dealing with. Plus, I'm not exactly young so idk.
MissMargo was the first person who caught my attention, but she surprised me once with how feisty she got with someone.
Sorta funny being a third party and seeing some of the heated exchanges on MC, people seem so immature, not that I'm immune from such foolishness.
Anyhoo ... what were we talking about? (haha)

Buscemi is somebody I could hang out with. Seems like a decent guy.
What kind of collection of music? Vinyl, CD, digital. Maybe 8 Tracks!
What kind of music do you like?

It can be hard meeting new people at any age.
Although with everything that's out there it does give you more opportunity.

MissMargo is good lady! We've all had our moments on here just like we all do in real life.
Plenty of heated exchanges around here for your viewing pleasure. lol
Most people here are always ready to discuss film, music or different things.
We also like to have fun and blow off some steam to get away the real world for a little while.

Music is a little difficult to talk about as my interests are varied and hard to pin down.
I'm intrigued by jazz, but can't claim to always get it. I try to always have an ear toward the more adventurous forays in music (John Zorn, Meredith Monk), but sometimes it sounds like just riffing and making noise.
My comfort zone might be classic rock, (Stones, Who) but the more popular it is, the less I like it.
My favorite musician is Jorma Kaukonen, but there is so much more.
Love Dave Alvin. Am thinking about ripping a Toots Thielemans CD for a friend. Toots passed away not too long ago, and he had a unique sound with the harmonica. If you hear a ballad with a pleading harp, it's likely Toots. Stevie Wonder is the only other guy I can think of that plays harmonica like that (but I'm sure there are others).
Dylan, Dead, Joni, Jaco, Metheny, Ella, Louis, Pie, Geils, Floyd, Kronos, Carlos, Lobos, punk, ska, folk, funk ... somebody stop me !

Sounds like you and I are similar in that we like a different assortment of music.
I listen to a little jazz but not much. More of a blues guy myself. Even the newer alternative blues is nice.
Same with Folk type music. I like Townes Van Zandt and Jackson Frank but some of the
newer alt folk is very good.
Classic Rock is probably my go to also.
Along with almost everything else. Everything but the top 40 stuff they play on the radio.
I like discovering new music and smaller bands.

There are several posters here that I think I would like to meet and hang out with in real life. The ones that come to mind are:

billhicksfan
FredB
Hownos
LauraGrace
Shogun
Stratego

Right back at you my Northern neighbor...the only thing preventing it is I'm simply awful in all of that snow and ice;)

Looking through here there are so many people that I didn't realize I miss.

I can be pretty antisocial IRL, especially with meeting new people, but I think I could actually be friends with some of my fellow Albertans here.
