Did you know that England voted Queen the greatest rock band ever? And voted Bohemian Rhapsody the best rock song ever?

And that We Are The Champions is considered to be the world’s most popular song?

It’s played at, essentially, every sporting event on the planet. Along with We Will Rock You and Another One Bites The Dust. England voted Queen The Greatest Rock Band Ever. Not The Beatles. Not The Rolling Stones. Not The Who. Not Cream. Not Traffic. Not The Bluesbreakers. Not The Yardbirds.
Not Elton John. Not Led Zeppelin. Queen.

And, excepting Elton John, whom I do respect, I LOVE every band I have named; the but, in terms of singer, composition (and Lennon/McArtney were better, but this is a composite consideration), musicianship (no other rock band in history equals Cream), style, verve and passion, it’s Queen. Drums, no question: Ginger Baker, in just about any era. I will put Mr. Baker up against Gene Krupa and not look back.

Consider this: the only vocalist with whom Bowie ever did a duet was Freddie Mercury, on Under Pressure, and that Freddie’s four bars of “Let us give love a chance/Let us give love/Give love/Give love” eclipsed Bowie’s reply, and that Bowie, genius that he was, not only allowed it, he anticipated and wanted it.

PS I like having you as my friend here, very much. I saw Queen in concert, and literally levitated out
of my seat when they played Now I’m Here from the Sheer Heart Attack album. I had the great pleasure of meeting 3/4 of Queen, Roger Meadows-Taylor, John Deacon and Brian May in a rock nightclub known as The Rat in Kenmore Square in downtown Boston, that night, along with every member of their opening act, Thin Lizzie (The Boys Are Back In Town), who all told me that I really could dance. One
of the best moments of my
life.

Did you ever listen to MSG?

It was the McAuley Schenker Group or just the Michael Schenker group depending
on time period it was.
Schenker used to play with the Scorps and is Rudolph's brother.
Just some good old fashioned metal rock.
