Are you watching anything right now?
On your TV, some other screen, same screen?
I have the movie Inconceivable (2017) on in the background on TV, but clearly not paying much attention.
sorry i just don't like Nic Cage

Now watching Tales from the Dark Side the Movie. Yesterday watched Alien vs Preditor Requium. And Exodus Gods and Kings and X-Men First Class the day before.
shareOh, I Loved Tales From the Dark Side, the Movie! I especially liked the one about the evil cat! The story was written by Stephen King. It's a short story from one of his collections. This adaptation was very good!
shareIs that the one where the stories are being told to a little boy that is waiting to be eaten? I feel like it was a child star...
shareCollege football. Well, as of 13 hours ago, it was the opening night of college football today on ESPN. Sadly, I do not have EPSN; however, I knew good youtubers who are recording some games I want to see.
shareWith the good old internet there is always a way to track this stuff down. There was an excellent web site besides youtube for these things but sadly it is long gone.
shareI just watched In Cold Blood last night. I haven't seen it in years. One powerful film. I have read a great deal about the case over the years. Such a sad and senseless crime.
shareThat movie is phenomenal. I still remember that scene with Robert Blake looking out the window and the reflection of the raindrops on his face made it look like he was crying. I haven't seen it in years either. Daisy, try the book. It's the same title as the movie. It's by Truman Capote and it's very good.
shareI read about that scene. Some day I'll be able to watch it properly. Even with the horrendously terrible YouTube I tried to watch, I could see it was extremely well made.
shareAt this moment, Father Knows Best is on. I'm only half watching it.
shareYeah I can only half watch something too when I'm online ;)
shareYeah, I usually give a movie my complete attention, but if I'm on line, it's just good background.
Right now, I have I Bury The Living on. It's actually low budget, but fun. I'm only giving the internet a 4th of my attention. LOL!
Yes, I always have something on in the background or even on my screen when I'm on here. That's why I started this thread, I was sure most people did too. :)
Yeah, I find it easier with a computer or a laptop to divide my attention than with my smart phone. I've been cutting back on my smart phone use, but now I'm on the laptop more. Am I winning? haha.
I got so tired of feeling SO connected all the time with my smart phone. Too much of a good thing I guess.
Never heard of that movie, but sounds like a horror. :)
It's an oldie and not really a great one, but It has Richard Boone in it and I have always been fond of him.
shareLove me some oldies.. and I'll watch any bad movie if I like the actor, just to see it. :)
I'm happy to be staying in tonight to watch some movies. :) I remember when that would have killed me on a Friday night. ;) Supposed to be going camping tomorrow so hope weather holds out!
Sorry, just kind of went on there.
That's ok.
Have fun! I hope the weather is nice and dry! Summer's last hurrah!
Yeah, exactly!
And saw the movie in the trending section and Truman Capote has me even more interested!! :)
Opps, wrong thread, but I know we were just talking about "In Cold Blood". :D
I hope you will grab a chance to see the movie some time. Not only is it good, it's probably the best thing Robert Blake ever did in his career, although Baretta was a pretty good show.
Unlike some people here, most of us know that anything goes on the General discussion board. I don't see the harm in mixing and matching topics in threads either. [smile]
Yes, i think its one of those "movies to see" now that I've looked at the info about it.
And anything should go on GD :) This site is pretty awesome. I think I'm on here too much. haha
Thanks to you, I'm watching it right now! Unfortunately all I could find was a copy on YouTube that looks like the whole thing was shot through a coarse screen window, and on top of that, it's cropped on all sides.
Too bad because despite this, I can tell it was a very thoughtfully shot film, but oh well, I'm happy enough to be able to see it.
I did, though, stop it to come here and post. It's deserving of my full attention. Robert Blake is great in it!
I have a Roku box. Last week they added a few more free movie sites/channels. Last night I was exploring the new stuff they added. I came upon this one called My Retro Flix. I was looking through the movies. I found Hitchcock's Marnie among others... low and behold, I came across In Cold Blood! I couldn't get over it!
I do get a great deall of good prints on YouTube, but I hate it when I get a movie that has that big light in the middle of it.... like you are looking at it though a soda bottle.
Lucky you! Are there other old films in there besides those two?
Ugh, the big light in the middle, I've come across a number of them. I couldn't deal with viewing it through the coarse screen window with the cropping and crap sound anymore, so switched to another, which was barely any better. It was the reverse of the big overexposed oval in the centre. The centre oval was more or less normal, if too dark, and all around it was blotted out with black! And crap sound. Even with the volume cranked, and using headphones, I could hardly make out the dialogue :|
Finally I gave up, 3/4s through. The good news is, 10 minutes in, I realised I've never seen it before, and I still haven't! So, something to look forward to, if Netflix ever gets it.
There are a number of good ones that I found. I just watched Gas Light. I love that one... the 1944 version.
As I recall, Netflix does show In Cold Blood. It was on there a while back, but I never got around to watching it.
Prom Night (1980)
shareRight now,i'm with jill on a cruise ship😉
shareI'll post on my own post. Just about to start Love Story. I've heard so much about it..one of those movies you become unsure you should even see for fear it won't live up! But here goes :)
