Me too
shareI think people are replying to stuff on the "rumors and gossip" tab and that flips those threads over to general discussion. I don't think most of those topics would be started if they weren't already there in the other tab. Well some headlines might, like the big Manchester terrorist attack, but not all of these other news/gossip threads.
I don't ever look at that tab myself but so much is being dragged over from that tab, and then I do sometimes read it. I feel like we did fine before that tab appeared, and people could have always started threads about current events anyway, but now the availability of that tab makes it easier and more likely.
I did like it better before. But, since the topics are showing up, I will comment/reply if the interest hits me. Why not? I'm bored and have no life outside of work so like so many others, I spend/waste my life online. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
shareBecause keeping gossip and rumors front and center on the Movie Chat portle will discourage newcomers who came here wanting to chat about movies and entertainment, and not about sleaze, from putting down roots here, and the site will die. That's why not,
shareThey have brains and thoughts of their own. They will make their own posts about movies and entertainment. Or whatever else they want here because GD is for "talk about anything here". Don't like the feature? Let Jim know. Again, his email is [email protected]
shareThere is no poster. They are just news articles that are listed in the News, Rumors & Gossip section. When someone makes a comment on one of those news articles, the thread is then moved over from N,R&G to this board. If an article is from CNN, then CNN will show up as the OP etc.
Please don't get mad at me, but I kind of like that we can also discuss those things on the message boards too.

A lot of people seem to be extremely confused by the words General Discussion: Talk about ANYTHING here. It seems they have a massive problem with the very nature of the board they are on.
