It's a miracle twinB and I are alive. After we were born, we suffered numerous complications, especially B, who had a mysterious bacterial infection no one could figure out for a long time. Our mom and dad were not allowed to see us right away. Our respective letters helped give us an identity and at the same time, ensure there would be no emotional attachment to our parents and round-the-clock medical team in case we didn't make it. Both of us were in the intensive care unit for months. Eventually, mom was allowed to see us after the first 2 weeks of our birth. We rarely refer to each other by these "first" names, but when we do, it is said with love, warmth, and affection, and no sibling antagonism.
Our mom has done so much for B and I it's unreal. I wouldn't know where I'd be without her. You're one of the many reasons why I come here. Lots of others too, even the ones who fly under the radar. Yes, I was born first, by a whopping 3 minutes. B and I used to sport hair bowl cuts but my sibling has grown it out for it to be feathered, really rocks the look. My hair is really long now, goes down the back, below the waist.
Now you're talking! Put a little curl in that lettuce on your head and you could be a glam rock god from the 80's.
How are you at wearing eyeshadow? lol
It's nice to hear you talk about your mother that way.
I love hearing how much you love and appreciate her.
We need more of that in this world.
I never noticed that my twin and I are progressing through the musical eras, just 30 years behind, haha! Old styles always become new again. I might have actually worn eye shadow one time for Halloween, suited as a spaceman, wizard, and Tarzan-like conglomerate. Didn't know what I wanted to be so I decided to be all of them. Family is very important to me. It's not always easy, but I find them to be a source of strength in my life, which I am fortunate to have.
It was pretty rough, not going to lie, some details were grim. Things may have turned out differently had it not been for an assistant, a lady from Jamaica who happened to recognize my twin's infection from back in her old country. After our experience, she decided to care for other infants in our position, pursuing her newfound passion, had changed her life.
I'm envious. However, I live less than a mile from the Mississippi River, and there are some wonderful public gardens there. I can walk down to the riverbank and dangle my feet in the water.
