It will be hard to ever achieve the type of traffic that imdb had, but hopefully over time it will grow to a decent level. I'm well aware there are already established sites that have larger communities and are much more active however none of them have the combination of an active community with individual boards for each film, show, actor, crew member. I'm posting here because I liked that feature and hopefully others care about that too. If you don't care about individual boards you could use Rotten Tomatoes or some other such established site, but if you like them you should keep posting here.

Yep. This place might not make it. And even if it does, it's gonna take years. Gonna be a long road. Hell, I used IMDb for years before finally making an account cause there wasn't enough traffic to bother back then either.

It's just going to take time to recreate what we had at IMDB. The former IMDB community - what's left of it anyway - is scattered among a number of different sites. This is the best of those sites, IMO, but the fact of the matter is that there are millions of boards here - one for each movie and tv show - so it's impossible for everyone of them to be active at this point. Heck, even on IMDB not every single board was active - mainly only the ones for new and popular movies/shows. But the beauty of IMDB is that you could watch some obscure movie, then go onto the message boards and find a post from a year ago talking about it - the board itself was not active, but the content was there. That aspect of IMDB is largely captured here with the archived posts. I agree that it's going to be tough to replicate what we had at IMDB, but if any site has a chance, it's this one.

If everyone that's here began posting,it will only help. Those that were lurkers before on imdb can help by starting to post now.

I have seen recent activity on the boards for the shows I watched this week. Bates motel, Taboo, Legion.
It's not super busy, but I've had some good conversations on the Legion board.

I'd guess that 90-95% of the IMDB users never knew the boards were shutting down. And how would they know this one exists? I think much of the NCIS content was transferred.

Everything has to START somewhere, smns65. Be patient. They'll come.

For myself, I did not post on individual boards regularly. I might get interested in a particular show or film I had recently seen, and get obsessed with discussing it for about a week....but since I usually binge watch a series after it comes out (rather than be hanging on each week and discussing what possible outcomes might be upcoming) I don't really have much of an ongoing relationship with many boards (except for Politics....during and following the Election.)

So this issue doesn't really speak to me : (
