Is the inflation caused by the moneyed elite increasing the money supply in such a way that their holdings retain value by inflating away the value of my more modest savings? Is the unemployment a product of inevitable technological progress (think of the blacksmith during the industrial revolution) or is it because corporations have outsourced jobs to save on labor costs? Only a simpleton could think these questions have any value.
Furthermore, they were all predicated on the Marxist view that humans are interchangeable economic creatures and that all our relationships are blindly transactional. In fact, human ties have evolved to prioritize genetic distance, or lack thereof, in our aspirations and relations. No matter how dispassionately I answer any of these questions in theory, ultimately I want what's best for my people above all else.
