Obama's Movie Warns Against White People

"Barack Obama gave major feedback on the script for Netflix's 'Leave the World Behind.' The film fantasizes a cyber apocalypse and warns about white people if the world falls apart," the outlet wrote on X. Others have praised Obama for being a producer in the film, as some have also defended the scene."

Gee?? Now imagine Trump made a movie warning against Black people or any other people of Minority?? The backlash would be swift and you'd never hear the end of it from the Left..

reply

Trump says stupid things everyday and you lap it up as gospel. Why doesn't it bother you that Trump claimed he will a be dictator for day one if he's reelected in 2024. What about Trump facing 91 felony charges mostly for being a traitor? You have a very simple mind with barely enough room full of Trump. Nice try at a "gotcha" though because I'm sure your trailer park buddies are impressed with you.

reply

Trump has an odd and very verbose style.

Obama doesn't,

I note that you don't deny the racist message of the film, nor that Obama supports it.

We know that he does. He has said such shit before. Remember His, "cling to their guns and bibles" slur against the good poeple of the Rust Belt?

Hell, remember his spending twenty years in Rev Wrights's anti-American and racist church.

reply

Obamaflix promoting more racism as usual. Time to take out the trash.

reply

The biggest fraud in American history uses predictive programming, fear-mongering, and racism against whites.

reply

I'd be lying if I said I'm not surprised to see liberals in here defending Obama on this

reply

Obama's full of shit, we know that. Every time he opens his mouth, he's lying. What makes this shit movie any different?

reply

Warm them about what?

Working hard? Getting good grades? Staying in school? Not committing crime?

If the world falls apart, it will be because of White people disappearing...

I watched the film. The scene in question was between a black father and daughter (not a couple). Building up to this scene, the father's character is shown to be humble, kind, and seems wanting to always do the decent thing. The daughter is more cynical, a bit jaded, and quicker to notice and react negatively to social offences. In the scene she tells her dad to not be quick to trust ppl, especially white people. It makes sense given her character and shows that black people are capable of being prejudiced just like white people.

But if you want to jump on the political outrage train (clutch your pearls) over Obama that's your right. It seems like an easy slow pitch right over home plate for Twitter pundits to swing at and hoopleheads to react and post about over the Internet.

Now look: Could you imagine if President Trump would've made a movie the same way this is with the same dialogue and the uproar over it to follow??

reply

So you're outraged over a hypothetical?

reply

Liberals refer to this as hypothetical, I refer to it as a damn good question, so please, don't deflect.. If this were Trump making a movie like this and said the same thing the same dialogue, don't tell me there wouldn't be faux outrage over it??

reply

ONLY IF YOU ARE DAFT ENOUGH TO COMPLETELY IGNORE CONTEXT.

reply

How far exactly do you have your head up this man's black ass that you can't distinguish how wrong it was for him to blame white people if the world falls apart from someone who is white according to you?? Well?? How about it??

reply

HE DID NOT...THE LINE IN THE FILM MAKES SENSE...WITHIN THE COTEXT OF THE SCENE AND CHARACTER WHO SAYS IT.

reply

Dude, if you say so, but you'll say whatever it takes to prove someone wrong, but unfortunately, you're wrong in this case.. You're supposedly white and defend this comment and that makes 0 sense from where I'm sitting.. I can only imagine a white man making a movie like this citing a warning against black people should the world end and it being their fault?? The reaction would be priceless

reply

TH CONTEXT OF THE SCENE AND CHARACTER WHO SAYS IT MEANS A LOT IN THIS CASE...YOU ARE FIGHTING WITH NO INFORMATION IT WOULD SEEM.

reply

NO INFORMATION IS THE BEST INFORMATION!! The less I know about something is the best time I am the most knowledgable about it. It just makes perfect sense.

this. shamelessly i will add.

The scene in question makes zero percent sense for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, it's implied that the mother is white. So why would the daughter of a white woman, with white relatives, be coming out with such charged statement?

Secondly, the daughter literally has a conversation with her dad stating that Kevin Bacon "wants to f-ck" her! What child would really converse in such a manner with their parent?

Both of these reasons were third wall breaking in a sense. Very poor writing...

Kaep came out and branded his adopted parents racist which I thought was extremely callous of him considering all they did for him. Hopefully most don't feel that way or do so in a very public way.

"Firstly, it's implied that the mother is white. So why would the daughter of a white woman, with white relatives, be coming out with such charged statement?"

The fact that you are sincerely asking that question shows how little awareness you actually have. I promise you that many a mixed race individual will tell you that their multi-racial backgrounds can often cause issues with both sides of their families. Those issues can easily lead to resentments.

Plus, you seem to be assuming that her relationship with the mom's side of the family is all hugs and kisses. Could be that she never felt embraced by them, this leading to her view point. Who knows.

reply

She (played by Myha'la) was implying that Ethan Hawke's character (a college professor) wanted to f her and yeah I thought it was awkward for a daughter to talk to her dad (played by Mahershala Ali) that way too (her dad cringes when she says it to be fair).
I didn't get the impression Hawke wanted to do that but suppose it's up for interpretation. Also she's a blunt, privileged, well educated Gen Z young woman so probably not shy talking about periods and normal health issues and stuff. She's also biracial so didn't go through the world as a white woman like her mom.

I think she was trying to manipulate her dad into going against Hawke's character (the much more likeable half of him & his wife played by Julia Roberts). This is before she says the line about not trusting people, especially white people. So it seemed like an all out manipulative plea vs her dad because she was scared and to be fair their lives might be easier if they didn't have to go through the present disaster with a family (2 parents, 2 kids) who happened to rent their house for the weekend.

reply

Agreed. But that reminds me of another idiotic part of this film, namely: -

The fact that everything had gone to pot but - and even although they're all in the same house - the husband goes off with the daughter, with literally no interest from the wife as to where he is (!), simply to facilitate a scenes where she can get drunk with George - nearly sharing a kiss with him!

This Is despite it pretty much being apocalyptic times, the family completely separated, no one's checking on the kids and neither husband or wife remotely interested where their partner is!

The 0bama's were always Race baiters and I see they are still at it..

I'm convinced the only reason Obama was elected was because he spoke eloquently and so much, people got caught up in this, that they didn't think twice about his policies for 8 years, plus, being the 1st black president also helped??

reply

Julia Roberts character was very suspicious and untrusting of the black father and daughter. Don't think it was actually stated it was because they were black but for me it was inferred. Her husband tried to negate her suspicions by for example, explaining why there were no pictures of the family in the house. She demanded the father show ID which some might see as a "Karen" thing to do. Later she apologized to them for how she treated them. The black daughter threw that remark out there with no real pushback. It was almost a statement of fact not to be questioned.
