You can certainly find some crazy writings in both books, but let's not concentrate so much on what is written but rather how it is used.
the thing is when you have Christians in similar situations to muslims, they act the same way. just look at all the "lords armys" in africa.
Muslims are huge believers in martyrdom, they think dying for religious reasons is the highest honor one can achieve. This is one reason why so many of them are choosing to fight or choosing to blow themselves up in some kind of conflict around the world. They'll do it even if the odds are stacked heavily against them, Jew/Pal situation for example, Hamas has no chance at all to win this war but yet, they're willing to sacrifice their own people for the cause...
fighting a losing fight to the end despite certain death is hardly a "muslim thing". its found in almost every country and group in history. Like the Jewish-roman wars.
most studies have found two things, poverty and sovereignty. While not always its rarely well developed rich nations with strong middle classes having their people turn to terrorism. also the biggest factor is they feel they lost their sovereignty. just ask the irish. or the PLQ in quebec. they didnt need the quaran
In fact, many of them are not even citizens of a certain countries and yet, they'll pack up and go fight and be totally willing to die if need be.

Whereas, Christians believe that there is no more need for martydom, as Christ was the "final martyr" as such. His sacrifice was so humans can be absolved of sinful acts, a sort of redemption/salvation approach to it, rather than a "jihad" approach to everything. It's the idea of changing the hearts and minds of people instead of thrusting it upon them which is how Islam was spread in the first place.

I guess it may not be just a Muslim thing but many wars have been fought to the end not because their invisible god tells them to but rather they decided to fight to the bitter end on their own. Most of the wars fought throughout history were not religiously motivated to begin with.
The point is, it's a religious cause not a rationale one with moozies. At least the Jews had a rational reason to fight the Romans rather than a "religious one". Isreal won that land 70 years ago and the Pals are still fighting for it. It's a lost cause and has been for decades, yet, here we are in 2023, people are still dying for it. It's just sad watching kids die because their skydaddy tells them to hate jews.

each side thought they had their god on their side and were fighting for him. whether it was purely "i am only invading you because if your religion " sure most of the time not. but you could argue that about hamas and israel then. "its not really about religion its actually about a conflict between two ethnic groups over land, religion just happens to be incidental to the conflict"

the first jewish roman war was fought over taxation. the palestinians are fighting because they feel their land got stolen.which is more rational? you have israel surrounded by other muslim nations who literally arent fighting them. so clearly this is about a certain conflict is more people thinking they are fighting for land they should own, rather than a purely muslim vs jew, or else all the other muslim countries like Egypt would be fighting israel, instead of helping them and feeding them intel about the attack.

Stolen land? Not that I want to get into a long discussion over this but that is highly debatable.
But sure, fighting over land is rational, but fighting for it for 75 years? That's no longer rational, its just insanity. In fact, isn't there some rule of war or a "just cause" rule about carrying on a war for so many years? And certainly it's against rules to fight when you have absolutely no chance to win.
What Hamas is doing is just not ethical. In fact, it's downright immoral. But you know... skydaddy...

They've already had multiple wars over this land. Ever heard of the 6-day war? That was one of the quickest wars in history between Israel and their Arab neighbors. But yeah, they've been fighting for that land off and on for decades. And the thing is, they don't have a single victory to their name, Israel has won every single time.
It's no longer rational to keep fighting.
