Why Do You Have A Politics Forum On A Movie Chat Site??

My name's BKB and this is my 1st post here and the reason I ask this is because I feel nothing good can come from any discussion of Politics on a movie website where clearly, people are divided with probably 98% of the site being Liberal, myself included, which I'm not and like I said, nothing good comes from this and what happens often is if you have a difference of opinion, say on Trump and it doesn't fit the Narrative of the posters on the site, you'll be banned for it and it's true because it's happened to me.. Anyway, it's just out of curiosity is all??

Trump's ugly mug popped-up almost endlessly so people complained. The Politics Board was added to the main page for comments instead of his individual page.

MC has a Science, Arts, Religion, etc. Boards, but only Politics was moved front and center.

Why not have one? People can vent on random stuff there instead of on the movie discussion sections where it's inappropriate. Also, 98% of Moviechat is liberal? I didn't know that beforehand w/o seeing this thread.

reply

Those supposed 98% liberals are only like 2 or 3 guys with dozens of Smurf accounts

reply

Lol, this.

The politics sections are the most exciting parts of these forums.

Check out the Trump trending board. Democrat Lemmings have kept him at the top for 8 years straight.

Movies and tv shows are used by psychopaths to manipulate people's political decisions.

reply

Then there must be alot of psychopaths on this site, a movie & TV website no less, right??

reply

Tell in a way that won't get you banned again what you said to bring down a mod on you.

The problem is, thanks to social media and the current "zeitgeist" of popular culture, politics is on everyone's minds and we honestly can't even get away from it. We hear about it all day from people at work, or at school, we come home, turn on the tv, there it is again! We go online and visit our fave websites. There it is again!

So it's on people's minds a lot, usually for all the wrong reasons.

The politics page for this website acts as a safety valve, because if we didn't have one, we'd get flame wars on all sorts of pages that have nothing to do with the subject (and it's actually happened if you read any of the politicians' personal pages on here). The ideal is that it's there so that the rest of the site can be used to focus on non-political stuff, though it doesn't always work.

These days, even discussions about movies seems to always turn political. There are all the anti-woke, anti-feminist, comments that inevitably come out.
