Biden Administration plans to advance racial equity by funding free crackpipes for the underrepresented!

I'm a little concerned that priority for the funding is being given to organizations that serve underrepresented communities. I'll have to figure out where I want to emigrate to BUT the whole world is going to shit.

Dont enable these junkies

reply

I don't support the government providing junkies with harm reduction packets. I wonder if long-term meth/crack people are able to recover their lives. There is a long-term damage from these various drugs.

Racial equity is evil.

reply

Racial equity stinks but I do support some sort of equity for all. I personally believe that excellence and elbow grease should be rewarded. I like the idea of some social safety nets and a living wage is a good idea.

reply

It's not the elbow grease people that ruin it, it's the ones that take advantage of the safety net to ensure they don't have to lift a finger for anyone but themselves.

reply

When I used the term elbow grease, I was attempting to use an infrequently used term for hard work. I didn't mean anything about anyone being greasy. I just meant that people who achieve excellence through hard work or natural talent should be rewarded. I also wanted to communicate that the person at the top shouldn't get all the spoils so that is why I support a social safety net and a living wage.

reply

Yes I know what you meant - hard working people who PAY for the 'safety net' that so many lazy people take advantage of - which ruins it for the people who truly need it.

And if the person at the top worked harder?

reply

I wonder which of his Chicom bosses company he is buying them from.

reply

I wonder if they will be made in America by underrepresented communities. There was a study in Mexico with crack pipes as part of a harm reduction plan.

reply

Well with blacks more spending time smoking then the less time they will have to be out killing each other.

reply

So instead of investing money into programs to help addicts get clean were buying them crack pipes to get them higher.Well hell well were at it why don't we shut down those pesky AA meetings and just buy everyone another round.

reply

Here's another idea. Before linking an article from the always peddling BS Dailymail site, ask yourself if what if they are once again misrepresenting facts for their own agenda.

They actually did manage to link a .gov source at the bottom of the "article", but nowhere does it say anything about crackpipes or safe smoking kits. They just threw that in there because it's a good attention grabber. It does mention giving addicts syringes to prevent Hepatitis and HIV, , but I guess that doesn't have the same punch as "Biden uses tax dollars to buy crack pipes".

reply

Hookahs will be next.

reply

I don't like the idea of tax dollars spent on harm reduction plans so syringes also sounds like a bad idea. The Mexico study below did actually distribute crack pipes to users as part of a harm reduction plan. The Washington Free Beacon article does note that a spokesperson said crack pipes would be included in the kits but they may change course after the PR disaster over the proposed $450K payments to the families of separated illegal alien children.

Lessen harms associated with drug use and related behaviors that increase the risk of infectious diseases, including HIV, viral hepatitis, and bacterial and fungal infections.

reply

Haven't personally done any studying on the efficacy of these programs, so I can't say whether they are good or bad, but it can't be any less effective than the war on drugs approach of lock em up and throw away the key, which really only benefits the Prison industrial complex.

reply

“Racial equity”

Democrats doing all they can to keep the black community in their shithole plantations.

reply

That’s really what this is all about. Keep the downtrodden in their poor communities ravaged by drugs, gangs, and crime.

reply

Amazing how you can take a left wing initiative to help poor downtrodden communities
and just flip it to blame the left of committing crimes that are mandatory right wing core policy

reply

Left have been trying to 'help' these communities for 50 years now and it's getting worse - it's obvious now that it's by design.

This is exactly the same: "more drugs but they are safer" type narrative which is an oxymoron and the pipes manufacturing contract is awarded to someone connected to the proposal. How we all were fooled.

reply

While it's true they reduce OD deaths and such with clean needles and a place to inject, it doens't solve the issue of the addicts and will create more addicts in the process since they'll live longer while new ones come in. This so-called racial equity seems to be turning the Liberal run states into miniature 3rd world countries according to Newsom.

reply

Vocal CRT critic Chris Rufo did an eleven minute documentary on San Fransicko homelessness and they've been decriminalizing drugs for a long time. I know Newsom was San Fran mayor so he may played a part in some of these liberal policies.

While it's true they reduce OD deaths and such

Why do we want to reduce them?

reply

There is always hope that some of them can be rehabilitated. One guy in the SF video above was an addict living on the street for a few months and he is now a recovering addict who works for the Salvation Army. A lot of the homeless people are both addicts and mentally ill so there may be no help for them.

reply

The guy who wrote the article in Free Beacon admitted he assumed crack pipes were in "safe smoking kits" without actually knowing, and his editor admitted it too.

When Snopes contacted HHS, it was explained to them that crack pipes were not part of those kits.

reply

But no free insulin or other life saving medications.
