It's not madness. You may not like it, but there are talented black directors and actors who could do a great job with a Superman film. I'm totally on board for this.

I think you are missing my point. I realize no one is explicitly saying that there are not talented black directors, but when people object to the idea of hiring a black director, the implication is there. If indeed we all agree that there are talented black directors, there is no need for anyone to object to hiring one for this film. The original poster and others who object to hiring a black director have no valid reason to object. The only reason is because they are racist.

"there are talented black directors and actors who could do a great job with a Superman film."

The notion that a director has to be the same sex or race as it's lead is utterly fucking ridiculous.

No one is saying that the director has to be the same sex or race as the lead. This is one specific film where the studio wants to hire a black director. If you object to that, you have to ask yourself why.
