Well so much for Bloomberg's candidacy. It was a fun couple of weeks and half a billion dollars spent I guess.

It looks like the net result will just be increasing the odds of a closely divided or even brokered convention.

In fairness to Bloomberg, while it may seem that he has no discernible personality or debating ability, he really doesn't have much political experience. He was anointed by Giuliani to be his successor, Rudy picking the lesser evil at the time, and mostly just continued Giuliani's policies as promised, sitting there secluded in Gracie Mansion being mayor while riding the coattails of the greatest mayor in NYC history. As an incumbent he didn't face difficult election challenges.

That's it. He's never held any other office. It's possible Bloomberg underestimated how much there was to this politics stuff like he underestimated farmers.

There's also a lesson in all this for those favoring proportional Electoral College delegation rather than the more standard winner take all.

I hope he enjoyed spending a large quarter of his $17 billion on pointless tv ads that saturated both tv, and the web. Frankly, I got tired of it. It's all lies and BS. What Bloomberg knows about leadership could fit on the tip of a pin. I know he's desperate, but I like seeing his and Tom [the idiot] Steyer's ads have the same effect as advertising for cheap horror flicks. They're annoying, I don't want to see the thing advertised, I don't like to see the film advertised, I have no interest in it, and the only reason it saturates the airwaves is in hopes that a few more stupid people than usual go to see it out of boredom.

Didn't he ban Big Gulps in NYC?

And salt, and smoking at beaches, but guns.... sure - you can have as many as you want
The guy thought he had to be a nanny to grown adults who don't know any better

I bet if I sent him a letter and asked for $200 I'd get $0. (not that I'd do that, just saying that I bet he's as tight fisted as he can be).

He is simply too short to be a leader.

Just when the rubber was about to meet the road we found out it had a big hole in it and was worthless. Should’ve stuck with magnum.

And notice how they completely dismantled him... by attacking him from the left. That's how you win a political contest. Bloomberg tried the "Bernie is a socialist trying to take away your healthcare" and it completely backfired.

In the Democratic primary. Socialism doesn't play well in the general election and most Americans are long since fed up with the PC personal scandal BS ("racism!" "women!" "gays!" "etc.!" ) that Warren and most other Democrats obsessed over in their attacks on him. They sound detached from reality, and certainly from regular voters' concerns. A couple of Bloomberg's general points were correct, but the Democratic party is too far gone to listen at this point.

I actually found one thing I agree with krl97a on.

-mike wasn't prepared and the others were already well experienced in debates
-He is surrounded by yes men
-related to the yes men, as Cenk Uygur said Bloomberg is used to just being surrounded people he can say "you are fired to". and no actual real opposition
- He has a horrible record and stands for nothing other than "I have a lot of money, Trump is mean, but im not against any of the status quo pro rich things trump likes"

im curious how the polarizing billionaire with a horrible history on minorities united the party and gets black votes?

By disowning his own record, particularly on crime fighting, in a craven and futile attempt to grovel to race baiters on the "woke" left, Bloomberg is self-eliminating reasons why anyone anywhere on the spectrum should vote for him. As you say, he's basically just a bank account.

I guess this is where we are at in society
