You're absolutely right. I completely agree with your view on this. While 9/11 is a painful memory, pretending like the World Trade Center never existed was never the right answer. At that point we're pretty much letting the bad guys win if we're deleting our history and pretending like it never happened.
Nice to meet you, always fun to discuss old movies with fellow viewers.
I still enjoy watching both. Everyone sees things differently. I'll watch the 1995 and 1997 movies again way before ever rewatching the 2021 reboot.
I liked the movie when I first saw it at 6 years old and I still enjoy watching it today, I'll proudly stand on that as different as my opinion might be.
I still don't think any of that stuff is quite as bad as everyone makes it out to be, the one widespread gripe I agree with is Johnny Cage getting killed off as quickly as he did.
I'm a bit late but seeing the original core 6 reunited for at least 1 last scene together would've been a perfect way to end the series. The original 6 had the best chemistry together and it was by far the best era of the show. While certain things could've been executed better it was nice to at least get Derwin and Melanie back for the finale.
This is a tough one for me. I have no issue with this if the photo was authentic. Nobody was making light of what happened or glorifying it, just showing that death and disaster can be foreshadowed. The issue for me is the photo being possibly manufactured and made specifically for the pics foreshadowing death plot in the movie, that would be somewhat of a low and cheap move. I'd have an issue with that more than anything.
I always found it a bit unusual how they had an east coast movie with a predominantly west coast soundtrack tho it came out pretty good for how different it was.
As much as I used to like watching Seven Days it's for the best the show was already canceled before 9/11 happened. It would've created a very uncomfortable situation for everyone if the show was still going with the premise of stopping disasters by going back in time when something that catastrophic happened in real life with no way to possibly fix it. Even if the show was renewed and slated for a 4th season they may have ended up having to cancel and end it right on the spot because of what happened.
