well the last 4 eps of S1 were a little below par. In the end, all the storylines have issues. In the end the viewer has no idea how any of them really end up. What is Nina going to do with her job, what is Dr. Lorenz going to do with his marriage, don't what is going on with the virus, is Velna ok, and characters show up out of nowhere or totally reverse their views suddenly without explanation (dont want to spoil). I think they were making up the story on the go and needed to fill so more episodes than they had prepared. I'll skip S2. The show does make me want to ride a snowmobile real bad. Maybe visit lapland too, and meet those pale faced people. I like S1 too. Better than true detective s4! I just watched this yesterday. I also read an interview with the director. I think the title refers to animals in nature. They can harm each other but we don't think of them as "evil' acts. So our human sense of evil doesnt exist among wild animals. The wood cutter Takumi is human but lives in a remote rural wooded area and reacts to a special situation. Is his action evil? I very much liked the directors "Drive my Car" and he uses the card-riding conversation tactic in this movie as well. This movie was a little too slow and the ending was a little to vague for me. Still good. As far as the shocking last ten minutes: <spoiler>Takumi choked the guy instinctively like a deer would attack somebody in the wild. I'm pretty sure the daughter was still alive since Takumi felt for her breath and he didn't collapse in grief. The other guy was probably still alive but knocked out too since they bothered to show him getting up. I'm just guessing about it though. </spoiler> Horrifying ending for sure. I don't know why Shel or the boy wouldn't yell out or scream out when they first got to the circle to start the fight. That would have alerted Jay of who they were. It didn't seem like they were gagged. After shooting cult members, I don't see how Shel or the boy could be in on it . Saw this last night. Ending was a bummer for me. I don't get it. It seemed like to get the women free, all he had to do was to send some police officers to check his girl's apartment. The Albanians would have to just leave. The young daughter makes no reaction at all to seeing her long lost mother. Then she disappears from the scene. Yeah, that was odd. I think the blackmark on the neck is supposed to be an indication of radiation sickness from Godzilla's heat ray. One flaw was not explaining how Godzilla got so much larger (10 x at least) from his initial appearance on Odo Island to later in the movie. Maybe I missed it. It doesn't make sense for a man to try suicide from that low a height since surviving the fall with serious injury was a good possibility . Also, serious suicidal people tend to leave a suicide note which was absent here. So I'm guessing it was some sort of an accidental fall or a murder. I'm not sure that the boy's story of the car conversation was not made up or slanted to save his mother from prison. It was an excellent movie with great acting. 7/10 I took a chance on it at home it and it was worth it. It was never dull. Demon possession, erotic, horror, shock, campy, daring, good music score. Judah Lewis's acting in playing Asa really helped the film, in my opinion. I turned my eyes at certain scenes, laughed at others, eye popped at others, and jaw dropped at others. I know it didn't get very good reviews but I thought it was a lot of fun to watch. 7 of 10 for me. I consider myself liberal and I liked the film a lot. I took it as a very good horror film. I don't see how The Exorcist and this one are that much different in approach. I didn't see it pushing an agenda and if it did I don't care. Its just an opinion. I'd probably trim the final TV interview scene but 7/10 rating for me. View all replies >
