I think this one finally dawned on me: "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" by Michael Jackson. Like Hownos' clue with Gordon Lightfoot, I KNEW I knew this one, but I just couldn't place it until now. Great song...brings back a lot of memories from my teenage years ("Thriller" was such a great recording!)!
I feel like I should know this one also. Can you post some more lyrics without the title? Thank you!
Thank you! And, yes, I should have gotten it right away! I knew it after you posted the extra lyrics...the "Enter number two" gave it to me. What a great song!
Little bit of trivia...Gordon Lightfoot had a guitar player named Red Shea who played on most of his hits (This song, "Sundown," "Carefree Highway," et.al.). I just love his playing...he didn't seem to play anything too fancy or complicated, but did it ever fit Lightfoot's songs. He passed away some years back...he was such an underrated great guitarist.
Not exactly..."Rain Man" is indeed a severe form of Autism, but the spectrum of Autism is extremely wide. This was all explained to me when my son was diagnosed with it 4 years ago. You can have Autism and still be "high-functioning" (I'm sure I would have been diagnosed with Autism had I been tested for it years ago...it wasn't something that was tested for back then).
I think Kevin acts like an autistic/ADHD child in many ways. We're never told he had it (and he may not have, although it wasn't really a "thing" back then either). You can have autism/ADHD and still appear to be a "normal child."
This one has been driving me crazy the past couple of days. I KNOW I know this one! 😃 Can you post the next line or two (as long as it doesn't give away the title of the song)? Thank you!
As many great movies that have been made regarding The Civil War, WWI, WWII, Vietnam, etc., I'd like to see someone in Hollywood like to make a movie about the Korean War/Conflict/whatever you want to call it. My late father fought in Korea...I think it had a major impact on the rest of his life.
I think R. Lee Ermey's performance as Gny. Sgt. Hartman in "Full Metal Jacket" is the greatest acting performance of all time.
Prayers for Hamlin. 🙏 I was on the phone with my brother and sister...they were watching the game and told me about it. Just an awful situation.
It kind of reminds me of one of the Cincinnati Reds' Opening Days years ago when umpire John McSherry collapsed on the field and eventually died. I believe that game was postponed as well.
Sorry, my mistake! Thanks for correcting me on that.
A very interesting list! Losing a World Cup final has to be tough. I watched this past World Cup much more closely than I did any of the previous World Cups and I was really impressed with Croatia's team.
Yes, that 2019 loss to Djokovic was a killer for Federer. I find Federer to be a real enigma...early in his career, he was just about the ideal tennis player, but he kind of let Nadal and Djokovic pass him at the end. I remember watching one of his losses one year in the Australian Open final against Nadal...he broke down in the post-match interview. That was tough to watch.
I remember that Portland-Lakers game. It was amazing how sudden that game turned. Portland looked to be in complete command one minute...a few minutes later, they were down double digits.
I don't know enough about handball and snooker to comment on those. It was interesting to see those sports listed.
I remember that game, I think. Isn't that the one that they played in below zero weather and snow? It was a fun game to watch. If I remember correctly, the Giants went on to beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Yes, a tough loss for the Packers.
I live in Columbus (OH) and the discussion has already started here about who will be the starting QB for OSU next season, if C.J. Stroud decides to go to the NFL. OSU football talk literally never stops around here! 😃
I remember watching Game 6 of the World Series...when Hrbek hit the grand slam, the announcers (I think ABC was covering the Series that year) had a "decibel reader" that measured how loud the crowd in the Metrodome was. I think it hit like 130-140 decibels, which was the equivalent of a jet taking off. You could tell on TV how loud the crowd was there.
Those guys were ballplayers. Greg Gagne and Gary Gaetti walked right by my friend and me. I got to see Jeff Reardon throw off the same bullpen mound after Berenguer finished. Great story about your garage door...glad you got to experience that!
I think this is "Wonderwall" by Oasis. Great song!

I think that is very well-stated. I absolutely love the original "Rocky" and think that it's one of the greatest movies ever made. There's a part of me that wishes that Rocky would've stayed retired with his eye injury. 😃
Having said all that...I do enjoy the next 3 Rocky movies. I don't think they're nearly as great as the original...but there are still some great performances in them. I think Carl Weathers and Burgess Meredith really give great performances in "Rocky II." Mr. T. is just tremendous as Clubber Lang in ""Rocky III," plus it's interesting to see the interaction with Rocky and Apollo & Apollo's camp after becoming friends. And I thought Dolph Lundgren was excellent as Ivan Drago in "Rocky IV." I need to mention Burt Young and Talia Shire as well, because they're such great parts of all 4 movies also.
The "human drama" that you mentioned is still very compelling to watch. I think Stallone made some "big mistakes" in the sequels (I wish he'd done a better job with the boxing scenes in III and IV, plus I wish that he wouldn't have killed Apollo in IV). But they are still interesting movies to watch all the same, IMO (but not as great as the original).
Tony Burton was so great as Duke. "He doesn't know it's a damn show...he thinks it's a damn fight!" He knew Apollo didn't fully train for the fight like he should have and Duke is trying everything he can to get Apollo to focus on Rocky. Yes, I think Duke knew deep down walking into the ring that Apollo was in for a real battle against Rocky. Duke knew boxing and I think he recognized from the beginning that Rocky would be a tough matchup for Apollo.
Yes, it's a tremendous ending. I've rewatched this movie many times and one thing I keep thinking about watching Rocky pummel Apollo at the end is how far his life has come in a fairly short period of time and how his life will never be the same again. Winning/losing the fight didn't really matter so much...he was winning at life.
Regarding the money, I think Rocky was one of those people who didn't really care all that much about money. He was preoccupied and worried about the fight to think about the money at that time.
I think he was somewhat "star-struck" by Apollo in the movie. If you watch the scene where their press conference was on TV, Rocky pretty much lets Apollo play him as "comedy relief" in a way. Rocky acknowledged a couple of times in the movie that Creed "is the best." But I love the scene where Rocky does acknowledge that Creed's behavior at the press conference (among other things) did bother him (after initially denying it at first). I think he started to see Apollo in a different light after that.
I love "Groundhog Day." I wish I'd seen it at the theater. Such a great, rewatchable movie!
All of them make me feel old! Of the ones listed, I've watched 10 of them ("Tombstone" being the most recent...I just saw it for the first time a few weeks ago). I saw two of them in the theater when they came out: "The Fugitive" and "Schindler's List."
